A dynamic microphone specially designed for the podcast production studio "RØDECaster Pro", which is also ideal for use in broadcast, radio play and dubbing studios. The PodMic is perfectly tuned for speech transmission: it sounds detailed, full, silky and balanced.
Weighing just under 1 kg, the PodMic has its own swivel mount, which allows it to be attached to a table stand or swivel arm and then conveniently pointed towards the speaker. The use of a spider may be dispensed with, the microphone capsule itself is elastically suspended and the swivel mount is internally decoupled from the body, so that you do not get any problems with structure-borne noise. The PodMic is picked up from the front, a distance of about 3 to 20 cm is optimal.
As a dynamic microphone, the PodMic is much less sensitive than a condenser microphone, making it ideal for studios and voiceover rooms that have to contend with ambient noise. The double-layered stainless steel pickup basket and a fabric mesh over the capsule effectively defuse explosive consonants and sibilants without compromising transparency - no external pop filter is needed.
The PodMic's housing is made of solid brass and has a scratch-resistant ceramic coating, which is why it can look like new even after years of use. The PodMic is manufactured by RØDE in Silverwater, Sydney.
