If you want to buy a DJ mixer from Pioneer, you'll find a wide range of Pioneer mixers for various applications at the manufacturer's site. To make your purchasing decision a bit easier and provide some clarity in the mixer jungle, we've written this guide for you, which hopefully simplifies your decision.
Which Pioneer Mixer is Right for You?
We often get this question from our customers. There's no exact answer, and it depends on your preferences and intended use. However, what we can give you as guidance is a breakdown based on requirements and price, so you get a rough overview.
Here are the currently most popular models among our customers:
Beginners and Novices
Clearly, the DJM-250MK2 is currently the most affordable entry into the DJ mixer world of Pioneer. For that, you get a mixer of the usual Pioneer quality with 2 channels and even a license for rekordbox and rekordbox dvs.
The DJM-250MK2 is, therefore, ideal for individuals who want to start with standalone DJing or for an entry-level DVS setup. However, you will have to make some compromises when it comes to effects as they have been omitted from this model.
Advanced Users
For advanced DJs looking for more inputs and channels, the DJM-750MK2 offers a high-quality DJ mixer with 4 channels and an extensive feature list that leaves almost nothing to be desired. In addition to the excellent sound quality with 32-bit converters, the mixer also provides numerous Sound Color and Beat FX effects, all of which can be used in standalone mode.
Also included are rekordbox and rekordbox dvs. These are ideal conditions for setting up a professional DVS setup. If you can do without professional features like LAN connectivity or digital inputs, the DJM-750MK2 is the perfect choice.
Professionals
For professional DJs, there is currently no way around the Pioneer DJM-A9. The successor to the highly popular NXS series has been improved in virtually every aspect and has become the new industry standard for all major festivals and clubs around the world.
In addition to its top-notch sound quality and high reliability, the A9 can handle anything you throw at its numerous inputs. With the latest features like USB-C, WiFi, or Bluetooth, you're staying up to date with the times.
Power Users
Looking for even more? No problem. With the brand-new Pioneer DJM-V10, the manufacturer demonstrates what is currently achievable. Not only is it currently the only 6-channel mixer by Pioneer, but the sound quality has also been optimized to the highest degree. High-end DSPs, which were previously only found in professional studio mixers, have been incorporated for this purpose. The 32-bit conversion and a sample rate of 96 kHz scream that everything in this mixer should sound as good as possible.
Professional features like the numerous (digital) inputs and send/return options, the Beat FX section, or compatibility with rekordbox dvs, Serato DVS, or Traktor PRO 3 elevate this mixer to the current mixing console Olympus.
DVS Systems
Are you working with Serato and want to set up a DVS system? Then, the DJM-S series is the way to go.
You can choose either the DJM-S5 for entry, which has 2 channels and high-quality Magvel faders. This mixer offers a fairly complete package, including FX paddles, at a reasonable price.
For those who want to get the most out of their DVS setup, the DJM-S11 is the choice. This mixer is packed with professional features and works with both Serato DVS and rekordbox dvs. In addition to the numerous internal effects, the extremely high output level, numerous connectivity options, and even 2 audio interfaces, the S11 offers performance pads similar to a DJ controller.
