The Korg Modwave builds on the legacy of the DW-8000, running a modern synthesizer with incredibly deep wavetable oscillators, great filters, flexible modulation, extensive pattern sequencing and simple operation to deliver unique, powerful and easily customizable sounds and phrases.

With over 200 wavetables - each containing up to 64 waveforms - 12 filter types and numerous, innovative modulation options such as "KAOSS Physics" and "Motion-Sequencing 2.0", the modwave creates unimagined sound creation possibilities and lively, moving sounds.

The new Kaoss-Physics feature is quite innovative and experimental. The engine models a ball rolling on a surface and/or bouncing off walls. This can be used to create very expressive modulations that go far beyond what is usually known from LFO, envelope, etc.

Motion Sequencing 2.0 is known to many through the Wavestate,. The engine is based on lanes that have timing, pitch, shape and four step sequence values. Each has its own loop start and end, allowing for a deeper, more customizable level of phrase and modulation recording. This tool can be used to create very organic, ever-changing sounds.

The Modwave has a wide selection of high-quality effects. Each layer has three dedicated effects, plus a send to the master reverb of the performance, followed by a parametric master EQ. In addition to standards like compressors, EQs, chorus, flanger, phaser and stereo delays, you'll also find special processors like the Waveshaper, Talking Modulator, Reverse Delay, Multiband Mod Delay and Overb (from the OASYS and Kronos), plus modeled effects like VOX guitar amp, VOX wah, multi-head tape echo and a collection of classic guitar pedals.
