Product description Yamaha Q2031B

A graphic equaliser helps you adjust a system’s frequency response precisely and correct problem areas. The Yamaha Q 2031 B has two independently adjustable 31-band channels and is suitable for stereo signals in PA, studio and installation setups.

The bands are spaced at one-third-octave intervals and cover the range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. For each frequency, you can set a boost or cut of either ±6 dB or ±12 dB: the smaller range supports finer corrections, while the larger range allows more substantial changes to the frequency response.

Each channel also has a continuously adjustable high-pass filter. Its cutoff point can be set between 20 and 200 Hz; with a slope of 12 dB per octave, it reduces low-frequency signal content. The EQ switch activates or bypasses the equalisation for direct comparison. An LED indicates the EQ status, while the peak indicator signals high output levels at 3 dB below clipping.

For connection, each channel has balanced XLR and TRS jack sockets on the input and output. The nominal sensitivity is +4 dB; the specified maximum level before clipping is +24 dB. When the unit is switched on, an automatic muting circuit mutes the outputs for about three seconds to prevent switching transients in the connected signal chain.

The unit is designed for installation in a 19-inch rack with 2 rack units. It measures 480 × 230 × 93.4 mm and weighs 4 kg. A cover for the control panel is available separately. With its independent stereo channels, selectable EQ ranges and balanced connections, the equaliser is suited to systems where you want to adjust the frequency response precisely or reduce individual frequency ranges.
