What Material Should the LP Box Ideally Be Made Of?

A single vinyl record weighs hardly more than 150-200g, but if you place 50 or even 100 LPs in a shelf compartment, that can easily amount to 20kg. For this reason, the box for LP storage should be very sturdy and not collapse immediately. However, most crates or vinyl record shelves have no issues with this weight and can support it well.

Here it's more about design and aesthetics, as the boxes should showcase your valuable vinyl collection properly and give your studio or living room a professional touch, emphasizing your good taste. You can buy a plastic crate at a hardware store for a small amount, but often the vinyl records don't fit perfectly in the box, and good design is far from guaranteed.

LP boxes made of wood or metal are the better option. We also recommend NOT buying a tightly sealed LP box with a lid, as it sometimes happens that mold and moisture damage the valuable vinyl records.

Are there record boxes for 7-inch singles?

Yes, here too we have various models for 7-inch single records in our range. These boxes can also be easily combined with the boxes for 12-inch LPs and fit perfectly into the overall picture.

Additionally, there are also solutions for CDs and DVDs that are held in the same design and can be perfectly combined. We also offer special dividers to divide LP compartments for CDs or DVDs.

Are there LP boxes for wall mounting?

For this too, we have different models in our range. These are less shelves than boxes, since the weight still plays a special role here. The arrangement of the records is a special feature in wall mounting. The Zomo VS-Rack Wall can be easily mounted on the wall but can also be used freestanding.

Record Case - For Mobile Use
