Vestax VMC-004 FX USB

Four decks, an analogue mixer and a direct USB audio path to the computer: the Vestax VMC-004 FX USB is designed for DJ setups that bring together multiple players, effects and digital audio transmission. Its four channels with isolator EQ give you access to sound processing on each channel and can be assigned to the crossfader or the master.

The effects board operates at a DSP resolution of 24 bit and 96 kHz. You can assign effects to the master or one side of the crossfader and adjust their parameters directly on the mixer. The TAP button sets the tempo for the delay time and LFO rate; beat selections divide or multiply the tapped tempo. Assigning effects to the signal path as needed makes them easier to access while mixing.

Channel controls include a trim knob, an LED level meter and a three-band Vestax isolator with full cut. The CF-Assign switch routes each channel to A, B or the master. Two crossfader curve settings let you adjust the fade response; the mixer comes fitted with a CF-R as standard. Three isolator bands with 100% cut allow substantial changes to the frequency response.

For connecting analogue sources, there are two phono and four line inputs via RCA, as well as two microphone inputs with 6.3 mm jacks. The microphone controls are on channels 1 and 2. Two separately adjustable RCA master outputs and balanced XLR outputs connect the mixer to the sound system. Connect phono, line and microphone sources to accommodate different DJ setups.

The integrated interface transmits audio signals between the mixer and computer via USB. It complies with USB 1.1, is compatible with USB 2.0 and is powered via the USB bus. The connection uses the audio driver built into the operating system; DJ or recording software is not included. USB audio without a separate interface connects the computer directly to the setup.

The monitor section offers a rotary selector for the four channels, as well as continuously adjustable split or stereo cueing. A 6.3 mm headphone output and an adjustable monitor mix support previewing.
