Vestax PDX-3000 MK2

When scratching and making rapid changes of direction, the platter needs to respond to hand movements without playback becoming unstable. The Vestax PDX-3000 MK2 combines a direct-drive digital servo motor with adjustable torque and an anti-skipping tonearm. This allows the turntable to be adapted to different DJ working styles.

The torque control reduces motor power when needed; the start-up and braking behaviour can also be adjusted. For precise speed changes, you can choose between 33 1/3 and 45 rpm, use the pitch control with ±10% or extend the range to ±50% with Ultra Pitch. The Quartz Lock function restores the rated speed, while reverse playback switches the platter's direction of rotation. The redesigned platter and isolator feet complement the vibration-dampening plastic housing.

The turntable receives MIDI signals via its MIDI input: by pressing both speed buttons simultaneously, you can switch to MIDI mode and have the speed controlled by an external MIDI device. The unit does not have a MIDI output. For connection to a mixer or amplifier, a stereo RCA output and an earth terminal are provided; a mini-jack socket is used for remote control of the start/stop function, for example with a footswitch. MIDI control via input and the analogue connections are clearly separated.

The anti-skipping tonearm can be adjusted in height by up to 9 mm; tracking force can be set within a range of 0 to 7.0 g. The detachable platter light is designed as a mini light and requires 12 V at 20 mA. According to the technical specifications, it is optional equipment. The height-adjustable tonearm and adjustable tracking force provide flexibility when setting up the cartridge.

With reverse playback, a wide pitch range and adjustable torque, the PDX-3000 MK2 is suitable for DJ setups with vinyl where scratching and precise intervention in playback are required. For the power supply, note the item specification: AC 100 V, 50/60 Hz. The power supply is rated for 100 V; therefore, check that the supply is compatible with your setup before connecting it.
