Product description Vestax MIDI VCI-300 MK2

For digital DJing with two software-based decks, the Vestax VCI-300 MK2 combines controls and audio output in a single controller. The device controls Serato ITCH and has an integrated 24-bit audio interface with 2 inputs and 2 outputs. Illuminated buttons and jog wheels show the status of the controls, even in low light.

The jog wheels respond to touch; you can adjust their sensitivity using controls on the rear panel. LED chains show the channel levels, and the curves of the input faders and crossfader can be adjusted. Replaceable input and crossfaders make replacement easier when worn. The crossfader can also be upgraded with the optional digital Vestax CF-X2.

A microphone and an AUX signal can be sent directly to the master outputs when the THRU switch is activated. This avoids routing the signal through ITCH and the additional latency that entails. There are two headphone sockets: 6.3 mm jack and 3.5 mm mini-jack. Compared with the VCI-300, the output volume for the master and headphones has been increased; additional gain is possible with the optional power supply.

In normal operation, the controller draws power via USB. Serato ITCH is supplied as the DJ software; to use it, you need a computer with a compatible operating system and a free USB port. The stated minimum requirements include Windows XP SP2 or later, Windows Vista SP1 or later, and Mac OS X 10.5 or later. Intel Celeron, Atom and AMD processors are not supported.

The VCI-300 MK2 is suitable for Serato setups where you want to use a USB-powered controller with an integrated sound card, separate headphone sockets and direct MIC/AUX routes to the master output. When choosing, pay particular attention to the older operating system and processor requirements of the software you intend to use. The compact dimensions and 3,2 kg weight are also relevant for a space-saving setup.
