Product description Vestax MIDI VCI-100 MK2
When DJing with a laptop, track selection, deck control and audio playback need to be accessible directly on the device. The Vestax VCI-100 MK2 is a USB MIDI DJ controller with an integrated 2-in/4-out sound card and can control up to four software decks. Its knobs and buttons cover typical tasks such as navigation, cue points, loops and effects.
A joystick for track selection is located on the control surface: you can use it to navigate your music library and load tracks. The jog wheels have a resolution of 2,400 pulses per revolution; their resistance can be adjusted. Illuminated jog wheels and LED buttons make the controls easy to identify at a glance.
An integrated audio interface handles playback, while you adjust levels and the monitoring function on the controller. Connections include an RCA input and master outputs, as well as a headphone connection. In four-deck mode, use the headphone mix and assignment to select which decks you monitor. The crossfader curve is adjustable, allowing you to tailor the crossfade behaviour to your way of working.
The controller connects to the computer via USB and can be powered via USB. A connection for an optional DC power supply is also provided. The device is specified for PC and Mac and can be used with MIDI-compatible DJ software; the specific controls depend on the software's mapping.
With an aluminium surface, side lighting and ergonomically shaped knobs, the model is designed for use at a DJ booth. The MK2 version retains the robust construction of the VCI-100 while also reducing its weight. For computer-based DJ setups, this controller is worth considering if you want up to four decks, integrated audio output and direct access to navigation and mixing functions in one device.
