Product description Urei 1605
With permanently installed club mixers, the number of channels, monitoring and cabling need to suit the existing setup. The UREI 1605 is a 7-channel club and performance mixer with mic, phono and line connection options on every channel. The rear connection panel can be rotated by 90 degrees, allowing the sockets to face backwards or downwards.
Each of the seven channels accepts a microphone signal via XLR, as well as phono and line signals via RCA. This provides a total of 7 microphone and 14 phono/line inputs. The phono input can be switched to line level, so you can also use the connection for devices such as CD players. The separate Aux section has its own send and return sockets on the top panel, so it does not occupy an input channel.
Channels 2 to 7 feature a three-band isolator EQ that can cut each frequency range completely or boost it by up to 6 dB. Channel 1 has a conventional three-band EQ with ±12 dB and an insert socket for external signal processing. Its microphone signal can also be kept out of the Booth output to prevent feedback in DJ monitoring. Separate tone controls for mic and DJ channels tailor the processing to the respective signal source.
An Aux send is available on every channel and can be switched between pre- and post-fader. The return signals can be monitored, have their level adjusted and be routed either directly to the Master or via the crossfader. The Aux paths can also be monitored via the Cue section. The separate Aux loop is suitable for integrating external effects units without using one of the seven input channels for this purpose.
The VCA crossfader has a continuously adjustable curve. Channels 2 to 7 can be routed to the A or B side of the crossfader, or directly to the Master. Channel, mix and Aux signals are available for monitoring; Split and Flip functions, as well as an adjustable headphone EQ, complete the monitoring section. Two headphone sockets, 6.3 and 3.5 mm, are provided; they are not intended for connecting two headphones at the same time. The adjustable fader curve supports different mixing and performance styles.
The Master and Booth outputs provide balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA sockets. The Booth output has a two-band EQ and a Left/Stereo/Right configuration; Master and Booth can be switched to mono. A separate jack output provides a balanced mono sum of the Booth signal. A high-pass filter affects both Master and Booth. Multiple output formats make it easier to integrate the mixer into club and monitoring systems.
Three-colour channel LEDs indicate signal, beat and peak. The ten-segment LED meter displays the output levels and can be used for Cue/Mix split. For installations, the input sensitivity can be adjusted internally for each channel by −10 dB or +14 dB. With a suitable external switch contact, the External-Mute interface can mute the music channels while keeping channel 1 open for announcements. The External-Mute interface is designed for integration into club and alarm systems.
The connection panel can be rotated for desktop or table mounting; integrated rack brackets allow installation in a 19-inch rack. The unit measures 440 mm wide without rack brackets and 483 mm with them. The selectable orientation of the connection panel helps you adapt the cabling to the available space.
