Product description Stanton RM.402

With a rack mixer, what matters is how many sources can be permanently connected and monitored separately. The four-channel Stanton RM.402 for club and mobile DJ setups accommodates turntables, line-level devices and microphones, and offers separately adjustable outputs for master, booth and zone.

3 phono, 9 line and 3 microphone inputs are available for selecting sources. The inputs are assigned to the four channels; depending on the channel and switch position, you can select different sources. Gain controls and clip LEDs for each channel help you monitor input levels and keep an eye on clipping.

You can freely assign channels to the A or B side of the crossfader, or set them to bypass. The Fader Start function starts a compatible CD player at the cue point when you move the crossfader. The player must support Fader Start and be connected with a suitable cable.

To cue channels, assign them to the cue signal using PFL. Cue Pan lets you adjust the balance between cue and master in your headphones; the stereo or split cue function routes both signals to the headphone sides either in stereo or separately. Two headphone sockets are available, in 6.3 mm and 3.5 mm formats.

The dual 7-band master EQ processes the output signal at seven fixed frequencies. Microphones 1 and 2 each have a level control and a 2-band EQ with talkover; the talkover setting lowers the music by a fixed amount while you speak. Illumiknobs make operation easier in low light.

Master, booth and zone outputs can be adjusted separately. The master output provides balanced jack and unbalanced RCA connections; booth, zone and record are RCA outputs. A master trim also adjusts the overall level at the master output. According to the product specifications, the signal-to-noise ratio is greater than 110 dB, while crosstalk is below -90 dB.

With its 19-inch rack format and separate output paths, the RM.402 fits into DJ racks as well as hospitality and club installations where multiple audio sources and separate monitor or zone levels are required. It is also suitable for mobile DJs when the required phono, line and microphone inputs, as well as wired Fader Start control, are compatible with the setup.
