Product description Stanton M.207

In battle mixing, what matters is how quickly you can switch between sources and make adjustments in time with the beat. The Stanton M.207 is a 2-channel scratch mixer with integrated effects, FX-Glide touch control and sampler. Its black and grey steel housing provides a control panel that is easy to access.

You can control effect parameters in real time using the touch-sensitive FX-Glide field. Effects include Filter, Phaser/Flanger, Echo/Strobe, Pan/Transform and Key. Three frequency filters can work as effects themselves or determine which frequency ranges are sent to the effects processor. This lets you, for example, limit an echo specifically to the mid-range.

You can record and play back effect movements manually or synchronised to the BPM. The integrated sampler stores five samples or loops; recordings can be made manually or in preset beat lengths aligned to the tempo. Playback is available as a one-shot or loop. In manual mode, recordings can last up to around eight seconds. Stored samples remain in memory until deleted or the unit is switched off.

For scratches and quick transitions, the mixer has a 45 mm Longlife crossfader. Fader curves can be adjusted and reversed; the crossfader direction can also be switched. You can also swap the channel assignments of the channel faders. Fader Start controls compatible CD players, but requires a suitable player and the appropriate connection cable.

Each of the two channels accepts phono or line signals. A further input, switchable between microphone and Aux, is for a microphone or an additional audio source. Both channels have three-band EQs; headphone Cue, Cue Pan and FX Cue are available for monitoring. The outputs include balanced jack and RCA connections for the master, an RCA record output and a headphone output.

This makes the model suitable for DJ setups with two turntables or line sources where scratch control, touch-based effect control and an internal sampler are required. Balanced and unbalanced master outputs allow connection to different sound systems; the separate record output operates independently of the master volume control.
