Product description Shure 55SH Series II
The chrome-plated Unidyne-style housing gives the Shure 55SH Series II a distinctive retro look on stage. Beneath its classic shape is a dynamic capsule for speech, vocals and instruments; the cardioid polar pattern picks up sound mainly from the front and reduces noise from the rear. This can make feedback less likely when the microphone is used close to loudspeakers.
The frequency response is tailored to voices and instruments. A shock-mounted capsule reduces noise transmitted through the stand. An integrated pop filter reduces unwanted breath and wind noise. The robust, chrome-plated die-cast housing is designed for use on stage and in sound reinforcement systems.
The self-tensioning swivel adapter is attached directly to the microphone. It can be tilted 45° forwards and 80° backwards, allowing you to adjust its position on the stand. The thread is 5/8"-27; the adapter supplied allows mounting on a 3/8" thread. A switch on the microphone turns it on and off.
The low-impedance, balanced output is designed for microphone inputs with an impedance of 75 to 300 Ω. This makes the model suitable for compatible inputs on mixing consoles and sound reinforcement systems. Its design is suitable for live performances, announcements and theatre stages, as well as broadcasting and recording applications where a classic-style stand-mounted microphone is required.
