Product description Showtec Indigo 5500
A moving head for mobile light shows needs to combine powerful beams and changing effects with manageable transport weight. The Showtec Indigo 5500 achieves this with seven 10 W LEDs and 16° optics. Two gobo wheels, a colour wheel and a rotating prism add structured projections and colour changes to the beam.
The fixture can be controlled via DMX512 or operated without an external controller. In stand-alone mode, auto, music-triggered and custom programmes are available; multiple units can be run in a master/slave configuration. The display is used to set the operating modes and DMX address. Two channel modes are available: Advanced with 18 channels and Basic with 13 channels.
Movement is provided by a 540° pan and 270° tilt range with 8- to 16-bit resolution. The pan and tilt ranges can be limited; a movement blackout function can switch off the light while the fixture is moving. Electronic focus and dimmer can be controlled via DMX, with the dimmer operating from 0 to 100 per cent. The strobe reaches up to 20 Hz.
The rotating gobo wheel offers six gobos with flow, shake and bidirectional rotation effects. A second wheel contains seven static metal gobos. The colour wheel combines seven dichroic filters with white and can produce a rainbow flow effect. A rotating 3-facet prism adds further beam effects to the projection.
With a maximum luminous flux of 2,800 lm and a maximum luminous intensity of 70,000 cd, the fixture is designed for club lighting, mobile DJs and compact hire setups. Power consumption is no more than 160 W. The black housing is made of V-0 class flame-retardant plastic; a fan provides forced-air cooling. Its 12.5 kg weight makes it easier to transport between events.
DMX inputs and outputs are each available as 3- and 5-pin XLR connections; PowerCon inputs and outputs allow power daisy-chaining. The fixture is designed for mains voltages from 100 to 240 V and, according to the specifications, can be operated at ambient temperatures from −20 °C to 45 °C. DMX and stand-alone operation make it suitable for mobile DJ setups, clubs and smaller stages where gobo projections, movement and compact transport dimensions are required.
