For PA monitoring, outside broadcasts and studio work, ambient noise can make listening difficult. The Sennheiser HD 25-1 II Basic Edition is a closed-back, dynamic stereo on-ear headphone whose design attenuates external noise. Its closed-back design for loud environments makes it suitable for music and speech monitoring.

For DJ monitoring, one earcup can be moved away from your ear, allowing you to monitor with one ear. The adjustable split headband helps keep the headphones in place; at around 140 g without the cable, they remain lightweight. Aluminium coils contribute to their high sensitivity.

The 1.5 m connection cable is detachable and routed on one side. The detachable cable routing keeps the cable out of the way and allows it to be replaced if needed. The Basic Edition is described as coming without a case or replacement earpads.

With a nominal impedance of 70 ohms, a frequency response of 16 Hz to 22 kHz and a maximum sound pressure level of 120 dB, this model is suitable for monitoring PA systems as well as studio and outside broadcasts. Single-ear monitoring and a compact design also make it suitable for DJ setups where you want to keep one earcup free.
