Product description Roland DM-2100

For nearfield monitoring, a separate subwoofer can extend the low-frequency range without the satellite speakers taking up more space. The Roland DM-2100 is an active 2.1 monitoring system with two satellite speakers and a subwoofer for music production, instruments and computer-based setups.

The two speakers each deliver 15 watts, while the subwoofer is driven by 50 watts. Bass-reflex enclosures and a frequency response designed for linear monitoring make the system suitable for nearfield applications. For digital sources, optical and coaxial digital inputs with 24-bit conversion and sample rates up to 96 kHz are available.

Analogue devices can be connected via RCA or 6.3 mm jack. All inputs are on the right speaker, which also serves as a preamplifier. The subwoofer powers the satellites via its own left and right speaker outputs. This means that signal sources are connected through a central point in the system.

The controls are located on the front of the right speaker. There you can adjust the input level, bass and treble and select the digital input; the power switch and phase switch are also within reach. A bass boost complements the tone controls. Separate level controls are available for the digital input or RCA input and the jack input.

The satellites and subwoofer have magnetically shielded wooden enclosures. The DM-2100 is therefore suited to a compact monitoring setup when you want to connect analogue and digital sources and reproduce the low-frequency range via a separate subwoofer.
