Product description Rodec MX-300 MK3
When many sources and microphones come together in a DJ installation, clear channel capacity and separate monitoring paths are essential. The Rodec MX-300 MK3 is an analogue 8-channel DJ mixer for nightclubs, radio stations and extensive DJ setups. It accepts phono, line and microphone signals and provides several separately adjustable outputs.
On channels 1 to 7, you can choose between phono and two stereo line inputs, AUX A and AUX B. RIAA correction is provided for turntables. The input channels feature bass, mid and treble controls as well as PFL buttons: these let you preview sources through your headphones without changing the main signal. You can monitor several PFL signals at the same time.
Channel 8 is intended for the DJ microphone and features a talkover control that lets you lower the music while speaking. You can adjust the microphone level and tone controls separately; use the pan control to position the signal between left and right. A Record-Select switch determines whether the DJ microphone is included in the recording.
There are three separately adjustable paths for sound reinforcement: Master 1, Master 2 and Monitor. Master 1 and Master 2 are balanced; an unbalanced connection is also available for Master 2. The Monitor output does not carry the DJ microphone signal. A non-switchable subsonic filter on both Master outputs and the Monitor output attenuates very low frequencies. Recording outputs 1 to 8 and additional playback and record sockets on the front make it easier to connect recording devices.
Four VU meters help you monitor cue and output signals. Using the signal selector, you can display the mix or Master 1, Master 2 and Monitor on the right-hand pair of meters. The crossfader fades between channels 1–2 and 3–4; a mono/stereo switch provides an additional signal selection option. For DJ setups with many analogue sources, the mixer offers extensive connection options, separate monitoring paths and direct recording connections.
