With a classic CD DJ setup, direct access to individual tracks is just as important as control over tempo and transitions. The white Reloop RMP-2 MKII LTD is a single front-loading player for audio CDs and MP3 CDs, combining a jog wheel, pitch control and DSP effects. Connect it to a mixer and control playback and mixing functions directly on the device.
The touch-sensitive, two-part XXL jog wheel is used for searching, scratching and making adjustments to the live signal. In Scratch mode, the surface responds like a record; without the scratch function, you can use the jog wheel for pitch bending, among other things. Effect modulation via the jog wheel also lets you control the DSP section. Filter, Skid, Echo, Flanger, Trans, Phase, Pan and Break effects are available with Hold, Dry/Wet and Time parameters.
An automatic or manual beat counter provides BPM guidance. Effects can be linked to the BPM counter and matched to the tempo with one-button synchronisation. For transitions between tracks, there is also a seamless loop and re-loop function, as well as four sample banks with five seconds each. Samples can be pitched and played in reverse.
For manual mixing, you can set the pitch range to ±4, ±8, ±16 or ±100 per cent. Within ±8 per cent, you can fine-tune the tempo in increments of 0.05 per cent; Pitch Lock and Master Tempo complement the pitch control. Pitch Bend extends to ±16 per cent. Four cue point banks store up to 2,000 cue points in total; Auto Cue and instant playback from a cue point speed up access during a set.
The slot-in drive accepts CDs directly at the front. Track and folder search make it easier to navigate MP3 CDs; ID3 tags and CD Text are supported. The dot-matrix VFD display shows functions, Playing Address and time information, including elapsed or remaining playback time. 10 seconds of anti-shock memory and improved damped feet complete the features for use in a DJ booth.
Relay Play and Fader Start expand the control options when used with compatible equipment. Audio outputs include a digital output and a headphone output. The model is suitable for DJ setups using CD and MP3 CD media when you want to work with individual tracks, saved cue points and integrated effects directly on the player.
