Pioneer HDJ-1000 Ltd. Gold

When monitoring with just one earcup, the listening position and signal need to be easy to adjust quickly. The Pioneer HDJ-1000 Ltd. Gold is a closed-back, dynamic stereo headphone with earcups that swivel through 90 degrees and a MONO/STEREO switch. The gold-coloured model contrasts black earcups and a black grip band with gold-coloured arms and hinges.

The 50 mm driver is designed for the reproduction of low frequencies, with a 38 µm-thick diaphragm and a 1.5 mm-wide voice coil. The lower protective resistance in the MONO/STEREO switch helps deliver clearer reproduction in the mid-frequency range. This makes beats easier to distinguish when cueing and previewing, even at high input levels.

The urethane foam ear pads enclose the ears and seal out ambient noise. This supports monitoring in loud rooms, while the padding is also designed for longer DJ sets. The earcups can be swivelled through 90 degrees to accommodate different listening positions. The headphones can also be folded up when you transport them or stow them away to save space.

The MONO/STEREO switch is designed for listening with one earcup. The cable and ear pads are replaceable, so these parts can be replaced when needed. The single-sided coiled cable is 1.20 m long when at rest and extends to approximately 3 m.

With a 36 Ω impedance, a 3.5 mm jack plug and the supplied 6.3 mm adapter, the HDJ-1000 Ltd. Gold can be used with compatible DJ and audio outputs. The combination of a closed-back design, swivel earcups and a single-sided coiled cable suits DJ setups where you switch flexibly between listening with both ears and monitoring with one ear.
