Pioneer DJ DJM-900NXS - Platinum

When a club setup brings together four decks, turntables and external effects units, source selection and signal routing need to be quickly accessible. The Pioneer DJ DJM-900NXS - Platinum is a limited-edition four-channel digital mixer with a USB audio interface, extensive analogue and digital connectivity, and advanced Beat Effects. The Platinum edition is based on the DJM-900NXS.

The integrated 4-channel USB audio interface with 96 kHz and 24-bit resolution lets you transfer audio signals between the mixer and a computer. Traktor certification supports DVS control with timecode CDs or vinyl: a USB cable connects the mixer to the computer, while the timecode signals run through the connected players or turntables. This lets you set up a DVS system without a separate external sound card.

You can select the input for each channel, with CD/LINE, PHONO and digital sources available for the decks. Turntables can be connected alongside CDJs and selected using the input selector. The input selector on the front panel also makes it easier to switch sources. The symmetrically arranged connectors for the channels on the rear panel also help you identify connected devices in your setup more quickly.

In the effects section, you can assign the Beat Effect to one of the four channels, the microphone, one side of the crossfader or the master. The integrated X-PAD for direct effects control changes the effect parameter with a finger movement; the Beat buttons set the timing. Beat Effects include TWIN LFO, REVERB, SPIRAL, SLIP ROLL and MELODIC. QUANTIZE lets you synchronise effects with the beatgrid of a compatible CDJ-2000 or CDJ-900, provided the player supplies the required beatgrid data.

The mixer also offers freely assignable MIDI control for software and external devices. The BEAT-EFFECTS section sends MIDI data via USB, allowing you to control compatible software effects using the mixer controls. SEND and RETURN let you connect external effects units; MIDI OUT lets you control additional MIDI hardware. The mixer can also act as a MIDI controller itself.

The channel strips combine a switchable 3-band EQ or 3-band isolator. The EQ has an adjustment range of +6 to -26 dB, while the isolator goes down to full attenuation. High-performance channel faders, robust construction and an automatic standby mode when the mixer is not in use or no signal is present round out its features for club and event use.

With four audio channels, two microphone channels, USB audio, MIDI and PRO DJ LINK, the DJM-900NXS - Platinum is designed for DJs running a fully equipped club setup with DVS, digital players or external effects. The limited Platinum edition combines these connectivity and effects options with the workflow of the DJM-900NXS.
