When scratching and back-cueing, the stylus must follow the groove even with greater tracking force. The yellow Tonar Banana is a DJ cartridge in an integrated SME design, manufactured by Ortofon. The Ortofon Concorde MKII Digital is designed for this purpose and, with an output voltage of 10 mV, supports use with Serato DJ, Traktor and other timecode-based DJ software.
The increased signal strength improves the signal-to-noise ratio of the audio signal transmitted to the software. Combined with the frequency response optimised for timecode playback, this can stabilise decoding and reduce errors in timecode analysis.
