When multiple players, turntables and microphones converge on a mixer, clearly separated channels and a dedicated monitor path facilitate the workflow. The Omnitronic EMX-3 is a 4-channel DJ mixer with phono/line inputs and can also be installed in a 19-inch rack for stationary setups.

Each of the four stereo channels has a gain control, a cue button and a channel fader. Two inputs can be switched between phono and line; this allows you to connect either turntables with magnetic systems or players with line level. The two phono inputs share a common grounding terminal for turntables with a separate earth wire.

To prepare a transition, you can monitor a channel via the cue button before the channel fader using headphones, even if its fader is still closed. The CUE/PGM control selects between this pre-fader signal and the running program before the master and zone controls; the headphone volume is adjusted separately. The replaceable crossfader with assignment switches fades between two of the four channels, while the centre position plays both at the same volume.

The front-facing DJ microphone input with XLR has its own volume control and a two-band equaliser. In Auto Talkover mode, the mixer automatically lowers the levels of channels 1 to 4 by 16 dB during an announcement. A second microphone can be connected at the rear via the balanced 6.3 mm jack.

Stereo RCA and balanced 6.3 mm stereo jack are available for the master output. The master channel has its own fader, a three-band equaliser, a mono switch and a stereo LED level indicator. You can control the stereo RCA zone output separately, for instance for an additional amplifier system. The record output remains independent of the master and zone controls, so their settings do not change the recording level.

With a 19-inch width and four height units, the mixer fits into a corresponding rack or can be placed on a flat surface. Power is supplied via the included power adapter. This makes the model suitable for DJ setups with multiple stereo sources, turntables and microphones as well as for installations that require separate master, zone and record signals.
