Numark X1 USB

For scratch mixing, turntables, CD players and computer audio must all run through the same channels. The Numark X1 USB is a compact, digital 2-channel DJ mixer with 24-bit signal processing and connections for analogue sources and computers. Its DSP technology is based on Alesis technology.

Each of the two USB ports can be switched to function as an input or an output. USB 1 routes computer signals to channel 1 or sends the record mix for recording; USB 2 feeds computer signals into channel 2 or transfers the master mix. This lets You integrate computer audio into the mix while recording through the other port. Both ports can be used with one or two computers. To play two separate computer audio signals through the mixer channels, You need two USB cables and software that supports multiple audio devices.

Each channel has gain and a 3-band EQ with switchable kill function. The digital D-Type crossfader offers a reverse switch and continuously adjustable slope; it can be replaced when worn. A separate mini crossfader lets You switch between channels 1 and 2 for cueing. A cue level meter displays the pre-fader signal levels.

For connecting analogue sources, there are two switchable phono/line inputs with RCA sockets, as well as a microphone input with a 6.3 mm jack. The microphone channel has gain and two-band EQ controls. The master and record outputs are RCA connections, while the headphone output is a 6.3 mm stereo jack. A look-ahead peak limiter for the master and headphones limits signal peaks; the sub-bass synthesiser lets You boost the bass content of the mix as needed.

The mixer is suitable for DJ setups with turntables or CD players, computer audio and direct mix recording. USB playback and recording complement the analogue connections, while EQ, the kill function and crossfader are available for scratch mixing and transitions. The USB audio interface works without installing additional drivers and can be used with most audio recording and playback programmes.
