Numark Fit for Sound

In rooms with several amplifiers or speaker systems, the same music source may be needed in different locations. The Numark Fit for Sound is an iPod player for 19-inch rack mounting that controls playback from a connected iPod and distributes its audio signal via balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs.

You can navigate directly on the device using the large controls and smooth jog wheel, or with the infrared remote control. The dock connector is designed for 4th-generation iPods and later models with a dock connector; the iPod charges in the dock during operation. If an iPod does not fit securely in the holder, use its Universal Dock.

For connecting to the sound system, balanced XLR outputs and two pairs of unbalanced RCA outputs are available. All outputs carry the same iPod audio signal, allowing you to route it to up to three devices, such as amplifiers or PA speakers. The rack mount requires two rack units; four rack screws are needed for installation and are not included.

MixMeister Express on CD is included with the device. According to the product listing, the software is intended for PC and helps you combine tracks into a mix with transitions. You can change the tempo without adjusting the pitch. You can transfer the finished mix to a compatible iPod and play it back through the player.

The steel housing is designed for rack use and weighs 1,71 kg. With separate XLR and RCA connections, the model is suitable for fitness rooms and other sound system setups where iPod music needs to be distributed to several connected systems and controlled directly on the player or by remote control.
