If you want to prepare tracks on the go or add a compact hardware controller to an existing DJ setup, the Numark DJ2GO for two software decks provides the essential mix controls. Its small size fits in a laptop bag; you control it directly on the device rather than relying solely on a mouse and keyboard.

Use Browse, Back and Enter to navigate music lists and folders. Load a selected track onto the desired deck using Load A or Load B. This lets you browse your library and assign tracks without having to reach for the mouse.

Both decks have a jogwheel, Play/Pause, Cue and Sync buttons, as well as pitch faders and pitch-bend buttons. During playback, the jogwheel temporarily changes the tempo; when a deck is stopped, you can use it to search through the track. The crossfader mixes between Deck A and B, while the channel controls adjust the volume of each deck. Sync matches the tempo of one deck to the other.

For cueing, use PFL to send a deck's signal to the cue channel. Separate controls adjust the cue and master volume. The controls operate the DJ software via MIDI over USB; the USB connection also supplies power to the controller. The device is class-compliant and, according to the user manual, does not require a separate driver installation.

Virtual DJ LE Lite is included. You can also use the DJ2GO with compatible MIDI-enabled DJ software; depending on the programme, the controls may need to be mapped accordingly. Numark lists Virtual DJ Pro, Traktor, djay and PCDJ among the supported applications, which are available separately. The model is suitable for use on the go, preparing sets and as a compact addition to a laptop-based two-deck setup.
