If you want to edit DAW and plug-in parameters directly on the keyboard, clear feedback on the assignments is essential. The Novation ReMOTE 61 SL MKII combines a 61-key, semi-weighted Fatar keyboard with aftertouch and an extensive control surface. The display, LED rings and illuminated buttons show you the current assignments.

For DAW control, you have 8 touch-sensitive faders and 16 touch-sensitive knobs at your disposal. Eight of the knobs are endless rotary encoders with 11-segment LED rings. Automap 3 PRO is included and can assign knobs, faders and buttons to software or plug-in parameters. To do this, the keyboard must be connected to a computer via USB and the Automap Server software must be running.

The 144-character LCD displays control information; 32 assignable, backlit LED buttons provide additional visual feedback. For playing and performance control, there is a spring-loaded Pitch/Mod joystick and eight drum pads. Transport buttons complete direct DAW control.

The keyboard can be connected to and powered by the computer via USB. For external devices, MIDI In, MIDI Thru and two MIDI Outs are provided. The MIDI In signal can be routed through Thru. A separate 9 V power supply is required for MIDI operation with external hardware without USB power.

When planning to use Automap, note the operating system compatibility: Automap is not supported on macOS 10.15 Catalina. With its 61-key keyboard, extensive hands-on controls and MIDI connections, this model is suitable for studio and stage setups where you want to control software and external MIDI devices from a keyboard.
