Neumann KH 120 D

For nearfield monitoring at the workstation or as a rear speaker in a larger multichannel system, you need a monitor that can be adapted to its placement and signal path. The Neumann KH 120 D is an active two-way studio monitor with an analogue XLR input and additional digital connections. Its MMD waveguide shapes the tweeter’s dispersion; acoustic controls help you adjust the frequency response to suit the room and positioning.

The digital BNC connections transmit AES3 or S/P-DIF signals. Use the selector switch to choose whether the monitor plays Subframe A, Subframe B or the sum of both signals. The BNC output routes the digital input signal to another monitor. S/P-DIF can be connected using a suitable adapter. Rear-panel switches for bass, low-midrange and treble are available to adapt the monitor to the room acoustics. You can also adjust the input gain and output level. If required, a Ground Lift switch disconnects the signal ground from the chassis, for example to reduce hum problems. Room adaptation via three acoustic controls

Digital signal selection can be combined with an adjustable delay. This allows you to compensate for differences in propagation time at different listening distances or synchronise the audio with a video signal. The monitor processes digital signals at up to 192 kHz and 24 bit; the maximum delay is 409,5 ms. Integrated signal delay

A 5.25-inch woofer with a composite sandwich diaphragm and long excursion, together with a 1-inch titanium fabric-dome tweeter, are housed in the compact, magnetically shielded aluminium enclosure. A metal grille protects the drivers. The dimmable, two-colour Neumann logo indicates operating and protection status. Protected two-way system

With its analogue and digital connection options, the KH 120 D is suitable for recording, mixing and mastering setups, as well as broadcast, project and post-production studios.
