A large collection of virtual instruments and effects can bring together the transition between different sound worlds in a production environment. 27 instruments and effects make Native Instruments KOMPLETE 8 a software package for music production, sound design and arranging.

The bundle includes around 11,000 sounds and 110 GB of sample material. Samplers such as KONTAKT 5 and BATTERY 3 sit alongside synthesizers such as MASSIVE, FM8 and ABSYNTH 5. The collection also includes 1,300 sounds for these three synthesizers. 110 GB of sample material provide the basis for the many sampled instruments and sound libraries.

The contents include acoustic and electric keyboard instruments, including Berlin, New York and Vienna Concert Grand, Upright Piano, Vintage Organs and several SCARBEE instruments. ABBEY ROAD 60s DRUMS, STUDIO DRUMMER, RAMMFIRE and WEST AFRICA provide drum and percussion sounds. Sampled pianos, organs and drums therefore complement the synthetic sound sources.

REAKTOR 5.6, REAKTOR PRISM and REAKTOR SPARK expand the selection with Reaktor-based instruments. Sound processing tools include GUITAR RIG 5 PRO, REFLEKTOR, THE FINGER, TRAKTOR'S 12 and TRANSIENT MASTER. The bundle's presets are optimised for browsing in MASCHINE. Instruments and effects in one bundle thus cover different stages of production.

The software can be used standalone or as a plug-in; VST, Audio Units and RTAS are supported, with RTAS requiring Pro Tools 8 or later. The stated system requirements refer to Windows 7 or Mac OS X 10.6 and at least 2 GB RAM for each. Standalone and plug-in operation make KOMPLETE 8 an interesting option for DAW setups and computer-based production environments running a compatible operating system.
