Product description Martin Mac 250+
When projecting gobos, a clearly focused beam and controllable image patterns are essential. The Martin MAC 250+ is a yoke-mounted moving-head profile spotlight with a fixed beam angle of 18.3°, designed for sharp gobo projections. Its achromatic optics and 250-watt discharge lamp provide the basis for use in clubs, touring productions and studios.
The colour wheel features twelve replaceable dichroic colours, as well as open and split-colour positions; its continuous rotation also allows colour-scrolling effects. Eight interchangeable gobos can be selected, rotated and indexed through 0 to 395°. For additional beam and image variations, it features a fast-rotating three-facet prism, variable focus adjustment, strobe and dimmer functions. The dimmer ranges from 0 to 100 per cent, and the flash rate reaches 20 flashes per second.
The yoke movement covers 540° pan and 289° tilt. Both axes operate at 8- or 16-bit resolution; precise 16-bit control allows fine positioning increments. Focus can be adjusted for projection distances from approximately 2 m to infinity. Automatic position correction supports position feedback. Movement can be controlled via DMX in tracking or vector mode.
Control is via DMX-512 or Martin RS-485; depending on the operating mode, the fixture uses 9 to 13 DMX channels. The LED control panel is designed for settings and addressing; alternatively, a remote control with uploader can be used. Firmware can be transferred serially via MUF; software updates via the data line are listed for the MPBB1. The modular construction and quarter-turn fasteners make installation and maintenance easier.
For installation, the spotlight has two pairs of quarter-turn mounting points offset by 90° and can be oriented in any direction. A minimum distance of 378 mm centre to centre must be maintained between fixtures; the minimum distance from combustible materials and illuminated surfaces is 0.3 m in each case. The ambient temperature must not exceed 40 °C during operation. The fan cooling system is designed for quiet operation.
With its fixed 18.3° beam, indexable gobos and 16-bit movement, the MAC 250+ is suitable for targeted gobo projections in lighting setups that require precise positioning and DMX control. When selecting a lamp, note that the fixture is designed for 200- or 250-watt discharge lamps with a GY-9.5 base.
