Product description Livid Controller CNTRL:R
In live setups and in the studio, having plenty of controls within easy reach is useful when you want to control clips, sequences and mixer functions without a mouse. The Livid CNTRL:R is a MIDI controller for music production and performance with 48 pads, 8 faders and 24 rotary controls. Twelve additional push encoders complement the surface.
The controls can be programmed for different MIDI functions. The 48 multi-colour LEDs with bidirectional MIDI communication can display feedback from the software. This lets you adapt the controller to your own mappings; open-source software tools support configuration.
Alongside USB, a standard MIDI input and output are available for external devices. The expansion port accepts Livid-XPC controllers, which provide additional faders and rotary controls as well as two connections for foot pedals. The device is powered via USB.
Depending on the mapping, the central 4×4 button matrix can launch clips, play drums or trigger other functions. The faders and controls are suitable for operating channel strips, EQs, effects and device parameters, among other things. With MIDI Learn-compatible software and MIDI devices, you can adapt the assignments to your workflow; scripts for Ableton Live and NI Traktor are available.
The aluminium housing and extensive hands-on control make the controller an interesting option for electronic music production, DJ performances and studio environments. If you want to bring many MIDI functions together on one surface and expand it with XPC modules as needed, the CNTRL:R is suited to appropriately equipped setups.
