A subwoofer adds the low-frequency range to nearfield monitors, which is often less prominent with smaller speakers. The active 10-inch subwoofer with 150 watts RMS KRK RP10S is designed for studio monitoring and can be integrated into an existing setup via XLR, jack or RCA connections.

You can adjust the handover to the monitor pair using the adjustable low-pass filter; a phase switch reverses the phase and helps you match the subwoofer to the other speakers. The level is also adjustable. A removable protective grille exposes the woofer when needed, while the LED indicates that the device is switched on.

Connection is possible in balanced or unbalanced mode; the input impedance is 10 kOhm in either case. Bass reproduction is handled by a 10-inch woofer made of glass-aramid composite material. The cabinet has rounded edges and bass reflex ports. At 355 x 398 x 382 mm and weighing 19 kg, you should allow for the space it requires in your studio.

The RP10S suits a monitoring setup in which you want to control the low-frequency range using a dedicated subwoofer and adjust the level and phase to match your existing monitors. The choice of XLR, 6.3 mm jack and RCA connections makes it easier to integrate into compatible studio wiring.
