One of the last of its kind

The electribe series has been around for ages. When I started producing in 2003, these parts already existed. But somehow I was never really interested in it and the optics and the suspected operation didn't appeal to me that much either. After a couple of trips on the Yamaha RS7000 and Emu MP-7, I stayed on software again and again (FL Studio). In the meantime, machines of this type are actually no longer produced and the electribe is pretty much alone on the market. Still just ordered a year ago. First watched a few videos and noticed .. could be fun, the little box. And in the end it does. The sequencer is learned very quickly and patterns can be created very quickly. Faster than when clicked together in software or hammered into the machine. Automations can also be recorded live in the pattern. Really very nice. Sound is good, but of course it cannot keep up with expensive VSTs, but the small box can still achieve good results quickly. And Bock does something with it. That is what ultimately matters. The electribe gives me the fun that I can't have with software because you have the sound in your hand. However, one also reaches the limits of the device. The sound selection is ok, but cannot be expanded. So did the drums. The polyphony is somehow not exactly clear. It is possible that the limit has already been reached with fewer tracks. I also have not found a way to send Midi Program Changes, but according to the manual it should be possible. The really cool sequencer is therefore only of limited use. Nevertheless, I still enjoy the box to this day. Unfortunately, groove boxes are hardly produced anymore, and I still think they are unbeatable for quick and uncomplicated implementation of the ideas. So go to electribe or look for the old candidates on the used market.

Workflow

I have never played patterns or drums faster in my life. Regardless of whether it is recorded live and directly or via the step editor. The sequencer is the fastest and most intuitive I've ever seen. Not even the machine can keep up here. Really ideal for realizing designs as quickly as possible.

The Electribe 2 is perfect for just knocking a beat live. The integrated samples are good, there are also beautiful synth waveforms which can be bent with the integrated modulation possibilities. clear shortcoming is a missing steprecording over the pads, which is completely unacceptable with such a step sequencer. But it is possible that the operating system will be upgraded. But there is hardly anything comparable for the price.

Great device

After a short period of acclimatization, the Electribe really puts you in a good mood and comes with rich sounds and a large selection of tones in an elegant dress. am more than satisfied. You can put together your track very quickly in a relatively short time. Sometimes you don't believe what you can get out of the sounds, sometimes you are surprised yourself. There are hundreds of editing options so that you can no longer recognize the original sound. All in all a great groove box at a good price! I can only recommend buying.

The price undercut everything else on the Internet. € 25 cheaper than the cheapest provider. The delivery was quick and the item was packaged excellently. Only in the shop with PayPal payment there was a problem and I had to go to the virtual cash register three times. Now I'm happy. :)
