Product description Korg ARP Odyssey FS (Rev2)

The full-size keyboard and openly laid-out control panel make the Korg ARP Odyssey FS (Rev2) a directly playable analogue synthesiser, with hands-on access to sound shaping via knobs and sliders. The model reproduces the original ARP Odyssey circuitry and offers 37 standard keys; the Rev2 version is identifiable by its black and gold design.

Two VCOs form the basis of its duophonic design: the Odyssey usually plays monophonically, but can produce two notes at the same time when needed. You can shape the sound directly on the instrument using oscillator sync, various modulation routes and the switchable DRIVE control. The noise generator provides white or pink noise as an additional sound source.

Three historic low-pass filter variants are available for sound shaping. LFO and Sample & Hold can be incorporated into the modulation via switchable routing; two envelope generators, ADSR and AR, control the sound's development over time. This lets you shape pitch, filter and volume using different modulation contours.

For connecting to other instruments and a computer, the device has MIDI IN and USB-MIDI. Analogue control signals can be connected via the CV, GATE and TRIG inputs and outputs. For audio signals, it has an external input, a jack and an XLR output, as well as a headphone connection with adjustable volume. You can route a signal fed into the external audio input through the Odyssey's filter and amplifier.

The standard keyboard does not support velocity sensitivity or aftertouch. The FS model is powered by a 12 V power supply. With its analogue sound generation and CV/GATE/TRIG connections, the synthesiser fits into a keyboard setup as well as a studio where MIDI and analogue control signals are used together.
