For sound reinforcement without a separate mixing desk, you can connect a microphone and other line-level sources directly to the speaker. The JBL EON 15 G2 is an active two-way system for live sound reinforcement, speech, vocals and music playback; its integrated 3-channel mixer simplifies setup at events, in A/V environments and when amplifying electronic instruments.

The mixer has a balanced microphone/line input with an XLR socket and two balanced line inputs with 6.3 mm jack sockets. A Mic/Line switch adapts the first input to the signal source. Two shelving EQs control the treble and bass. The balanced XLR output lets you send the signal on as a mix or link it through, for example, to another EON speaker or a mixing desk.

The enclosure houses a 15-inch woofer with two neodymium magnets and a compression driver with a 1-inch throat and 1.75-inch titanium diaphragm. The power amplifiers deliver 300 watts for the low-frequency range and 100 watts for the high-frequency range. The stated frequency range is 39 Hz to 18 kHz at −10 dB; the nominal frequency response is 42 Hz to 17 kHz at ±3 dB. The maximum sound pressure level is specified as 129 dB at 1 m.

The horn has a nominal sound coverage of 90° horizontal and 60° vertical, each at −6 dB. Dynamic signal processing protects the speakers and amplifier from overload. The Thermomaster cooling concept dissipates heat through cooling fins in an aluminium carrier and operates without internal or external fans.

The multi-angle polymer enclosure can be set up as a front-of-house speaker or stage monitor. It has a 35 mm pole socket for mounting on a stand. At 21 kg, the active system remains portable; it is suitable for mobile sound reinforcement and monitoring setups that combine mixer, amplification and speaker in one enclosure.
