JB-Systems Talent

With a 19-inch DJ mixer, the number of sources that can be connected and controlled simultaneously during operation matters. The JB-Systems Talent is a 6-channel mixer for rack installation with inputs for line, phono and microphone signals. Separate channel controls, monitoring and an assignable crossfader support use in a DJ setup.

A total of 11 inputs are specified for the sources: 5 line, 2 phono and 3 microphone inputs. Each phono/line channel has a 3-band tone control; gain controls are used to adjust the input levels. The microphone channels also have three-band tone control and a pan control. When Auto-Talkover is active, the music is automatically reduced while you speak.

Use channel selection to determine which signals are assigned to the crossfader. When pressed, the Punch buttons bring in the other assigned channel. Beat LEDs visually indicate the bass rhythm; the LED level meter monitors the master output. Master balance and a separate booth control round out the output controls.

Connect an external effects unit via Send and Return: the send level is adjustable, and the return control mixes the effect signal into the master output. A dedicated DJ mic loop is provided for effects in the DJ microphone channel. For monitoring, you can select channels using PFL and mix or split the headphone signal between Cue and Master.

Connections include two master outputs, a record output and a headphone output; the booth output provides a separately adjustable monitor path. The grounding terminal is for connecting turntables. A BNC socket accepts a gooseneck lamp with 12 V and a maximum of 5 W. This makes the mixer suitable for DJ racks with multiple playback sources when you need analogue sources, microphones, external effects and separately adjustable booth monitoring.
