When several playback sources and microphones are connected to a DJ mixer, separate sound controls and an assignable crossfader help you build your mix. The JB-Systems Beat 6 is a 5-channel DJ mixer with automatic BPM display and, according to its connection specifications, accepts three microphone, two phono and seven line signals.

Each channel has gain and 3-band EQ controls. You can assign the crossfader freely to fade between the channels you want. The automatic BPM display can also be assigned to a channel and shows its tempo.

The microphone channel has its own gain and EQ controls, as well as a pan control. Automatic talkover lowers the music volume when you use a microphone. For monitoring, the headphone output provides a mix of PFL and the master signal; headphones connect via a 6.3 mm jack.

For your sound system, there are two adjustable master outputs; Master A is balanced. The connection specifications list three master outputs in total, including an XLR connection, as well as a Rec output. The mixer can be installed in a rack. Software is not included.

With its numerous inputs and PFL/master mixing function, the mixer is suitable for DJ setups with several analogue playback sources and microphones. Rack mounting and a balanced master connection are practical considerations when installing it in a rack and connecting it to a suitable PA system.
