Product description iKey RM-3
When a signal needs to be recorded directly in the rack without an additional computer, the iKEY RM-3 19-inch recorder with 1U handles recording and playback. It records mono or stereo line signals as well as microphone signals to an SD card or USB storage device, making it suitable for sources such as mixers, instruments and vocals.
For connections, the rear panel provides an XLR/6.3 mm combo input with a Mic/Line switch and a RCA line input. On the front panel, you’ll find a 6.3 mm microphone input, a stereo line input via two 6.3 mm jack sockets, as well as RCA inputs. An input preamp switch offers −20 dB, 0 dB and +10 dB settings; you can adjust the recording level separately and monitor it via the digital level display.
The recorder saves recordings as MP3 files at 128, 256 or 320 kb/s, or as WAV files at 44.1 kHz. In addition to the supplied SD card, you can use a supported FAT-formatted USB storage device. When a USB storage device is connected, it takes priority: the RM-3 works with only one storage medium at a time and then records exclusively to the USB device or plays back files from it.
The colour LCD displays file and playback information as well as the recording mode. Use the rubberised navigation wheel to search for files and adjust the recording level; the record, play/pause and stop buttons are directly on the unit. You can then transfer recordings to a computer via USB cable. A headphone/line socket and a dedicated volume control are provided for monitoring; rear-panel balanced XLR and RCA outputs allow you to connect other audio equipment.
The RM-3 fits into rack setups where you want to record and play back line or microphone signals directly, without a computer. SD and USB recording with separate monitor outputs make it a compact addition to musician, studio and event systems.
