A passive subwoofer adds the low-frequency range to a PA system and can also connect the tops via an internal crossover. The HK Audio PR:O 210 Sub uses two 10-inch woofers in a bass-reflex enclosure and is designed to be combined with tops from the PR:O series.

The signal from the amplifier comes in via the NL4 Speakon input. From the satellite output, you can run the speaker signal directly to a compatible full-range top; the passive crossover divides the signal at 150 Hz with a slope of 12 dB per octave. You need an external power amplifier for operation. The recommended power is 600 to 800 watts RMS at 4 ohms per channel; when combined with a PR:O top, the system's nominal impedance is 4 ohms. Connecting the subwoofer and top in series keeps the cabling of this kind of setup neat and tidy.

According to the stated values, the frequency range is 40 to 150 Hz at -10 dB and 60 to 150 Hz at ±3 dB. The nominal power handling is 500 watts RMS, with programme and peak power handling of 1,000 and 1,500 watts respectively. Two M20 pole-mount flanges allow you to mount distance poles; two integrated handles make it easier to carry. Two M20 flanges for tops offer flexibility when setting up.

The MDF enclosure is coated with black acrylic paint and has a steel grille with acoustic foam. At 25.9 kg, the subwoofer remains portable; its dimensions are 360 x 530 x 610 mm (W x D x H). Compact dimensions at just under 26 kg make it a suitable addition to mobile PA systems with passive PR:O tops.
