HK PR:O 15

If a PA speaker is to reach deeper into the bass range even without a separate subwoofer, the components are crucial. The HK Audio PR:O 15 is a passive 15-inch full-range top cabinet, whose extended low-mid and bass reproduction makes it suitable for stand-alone operation. It can also be used as a satellite in a PA system.

For connection to an external power amplifier, an NL4 Speakon input and parallel output are provided; both are wired to pins 1+/1−. The nominal impedance is 8 ohms. HK Audio recommends Lab.Gruppen power amplifiers of the IPX and IPD series as suitable amplifiers. The passive crossover frequency is 2 kHz with 12 dB per octave. A dynamic protection circuit protects the high-frequency driver.

The 15-inch cone loudspeaker works with a 1-inch compression driver and a constant directivity horn with a 60° x 40° dispersion angle. The specified frequency response ranges from 60 Hz to 19 kHz at −6 dB and from 53 Hz to 19 kHz at −10 dB. With a sensitivity of 104 dB (1 W/1 m) and up to 128 dB maximum sound pressure level, the speaker is also suitable for applications where high volume is required.

For mounting on a stand, the housing features a DuoTilt 3°/7° pole mount; three M8 rigging points allow for flown installation. Two integrated handles facilitate transport. The MDF housing is finished in black paint and protected by a steel grille with acoustic foam.

This makes the model suitable for sound reinforcement setups where you are looking for a passive full-range top cabinet for standalone operation or as a satellite. The 400 W RMS power handling and 8-ohm impedance are key criteria for matching with a suitable power amplifier.
