If you want to add controlled low-frequency response to a PA system without an additional power amplifier, an active subwoofer with satellite outputs is a practical choice. The HK Audio PR:O 210 Sub A features two 10-inch woofers in a bass-reflex enclosure and an integrated 600 W Class D power amplifier. Its compact dimensions make it easy to set up with suitable tops.

Connect the mixer or another line source via the two balanced XLR/jack combo sockets. The active crossover is adjustable from 75 to 150 Hz; its XLR outputs send the filtered mid/high signal to satellites. Two additional through outputs pass the input signal on in parallel, for example to additional speakers or monitors.

Use the bass gain control to match the subwoofer level to the system. The phase switch offers settings from 0° to 180° to match the low frequencies to the connected speakers. A 35 Hz subsonic filter limits very low frequencies; the integrated status indicator signals limiter operation.

The MDF enclosure has two integrated carrying handles and a black metal grille with acoustic foam. Two M20 threaded inserts on the top accommodate distance poles for tops. At 27.2 kg, the enclosure remains manageable for mobile PA setups.

The active subwoofer is suitable for compact sound reinforcement systems where you want to connect tops directly via the integrated crossover and adjust the transition to the bass range. XLR signal routing and two M20 mounts make it particularly well suited to mobile setups with PR:O satellites.
