Product description Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 Gen4

Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 Gen4 is a compact USB-C audio interface for recording, production, streaming and podcasting. Two microphone preamps from the fourth generation, additional line inputs, MIDI as well as separate mixes for headphones and line outputs make the desktop unit a thoughtfully designed hub for small studios and mobile setups. It also includes modern features such as Auto Gain, Clip Safe and Loopback, which make your day-to-day work noticeably easier.

Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 Gen4 - Preamps

Clear sound, clean signal path

At the centre are two 4th-Gen microphone preamps with up to 69 dB of gain. This lets you record speech, vocals and acoustic instruments in detail, with low noise. The new converters deliver up to 24-bit / 192 kHz and a high dynamic range, so fine transients, level jumps and nuances are preserved cleanly.

For a small recording setup, this is especially practical: you get not only two combo inputs for Mic, Line or instrument, but also two additional line inputs. This way, you can connect synthesizers, drum machines, keys or external preamps just as easily, alongside microphones.

Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 Gen4 - Air Mode

More character at the push of a button

With the two Air modes, you can give your recordings more presence and openness whenever you need it. This is particularly useful for vocals, acoustic guitars and speech recordings, when a signal can benefit from a little more sparkle and presence. At the same time, the recordings remain controlled and immediate.

Guitars and bass also benefit from the equipment. The front-facing Hi-Z inputs are designed for instruments and deliver a cohesive playing feel when you plug in directly to your DAW. That lets you capture ideas quickly without having to switch in additional equipment in between.

Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 Gen4 - Levels

Keep levels under control

A real advantage in everyday use is Auto Gain and Clip Safe. Auto Gain sets the input level appropriately at the push of a button, while Clip Safe automatically adjusts when overloading threatens. Especially for spontaneous takes, podcasts or varying speech intervals, this saves you time and helps prevent unnecessary repeat recordings.

The Dynamic Gain Halos around the controls provide you with direct visual feedback. There’s also a powerful headphone output with its own volume control, which offers enough headroom even for demanding headphones. For monitoring, recording and fast working, this is a noticeable comfort boost.

Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 Gen4 - More Features

More than just an interface

The Focusrite unit isn’t only interesting for classic music production. With Loopback, you route audio from other applications directly into your software. This is useful for livestreams, online content, tutorials or podcast setups with multiple audio sources. MIDI In and Out also make it easier to integrate external controllers, synthesizers and grooveboxes.

Right after unpacking, you can get started: the software included includes, among other things, Ableton Live Lite, Pro Tools Intro+, Cubase LE and the Hitmaker Expansion. The Easy Start Assistant supports you with setup and is especially helpful when you’re building your first recording setup.

This interface is the right choice if you’re looking for a compact desktop setup that does more than a simple 2-channel model. It’s also a good option for beginners, because level assistance, Easy Start and the included software make getting going considerably easier. Important questions about the article Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 Gen4

Question: How many sources can be connected at the same time?

Answer: There are two combo inputs for microphone, line or instrument, plus two additional line inputs. This lets you record, for example, two microphones and a stereo synthesizer pair at the same time.

Question: Is the Scarlett 4i4 Gen4 suitable for synthesizers, grooveboxes and MIDI controllers?

Answer: Yes. The additional line inputs are intended for external sound generators, and MIDI In and MIDI Out connect controllers or hardware synthesizers without a separate MIDI interface.

Question: Can I set up separate mixes for monitors and headphones?

Answer: Yes. The headphone output and line outputs can each receive their own mix. This is useful when, for example, the artist needs a different headphone mix from the control-room speakers.

Question: Is the interface suitable for streaming and recording audio from a computer?

Answer: Yes. The loopback function routes computer signals back as an input, making streaming, podcasting or recording program audio together with microphones easier.

Question: Does the Scarlett 4i4 Gen4 need a separate power supply?

Answer: No, it can be powered via USB-C. An external power supply is also included and can be used if required.

Question: Does the Scarlett 4i4 Gen4 work with Windows and macOS?

Answer: Yes. Focusrite supports Intel, AMD and Arm64 processors under Windows, as well as Intel and Apple Silicon systems under macOS.

Question: Which software is included?

Answer: The package includes Ableton Live Lite, Pro Tools Intro+, Cubase LE and the Hitmaker Expansion. This already provides software for recording, production, instruments and effects.

Focusrite Scarlett 16i16 Gen4

Compact audio interface for productions with high expectations: Focusrite Scarlett 16i16 Gen4 combines high-quality recording sound with flexible connections for microphones, instruments, synthesizers, external devices and MIDI setups. You get two especially quiet, remotely controllable preamps, six line inputs, four line outputs, two independent headphone outputs, as well as digital expansion options via ADAT and S/PDIF. It also includes well thought-out features such as Auto Gain, Clip Safe, Alt-Monitor switching and the revised Air modes. This makes the interface the central hub for your studio—without taking up unnecessary space. Clarity that starts right at the recording At the center are two extremely low-noise preamps that can handle even demanding microphones cleanly with up to 69 dB of gain. The preamps work with detail, openness and control—so vocals, speech, acoustic guitars or finely tuned instruments are captured precisely. Independent phantom power makes the setup even more flexible when you combine different microphone types.Especially in compact production environments, it’s not only the number of inputs that matters, but how reliably they work in everyday use. This Scarlett gives you a solid foundation you can rely on for songwriting, recording and overdubs. More control for clean takes With Auto Gain and Clip Safe, the interface takes a part of the level work off your hands without taking away control. Auto Gain helps you set levels quickly, while Clip Safe responds in the background if clipping threatens. This is especially useful for vocals, spontaneous performances or dynamic instruments where the level doesn’t stay constant. That lets you work more relaxedly and spend less time on retakes. Instead of correcting technical problems, you can focus more on performance, arrangement and the recording flow. Connections that grow with your setup The Focusrite solution is built for hybrid production environments. In addition to the two mic/line/instrument inputs, you get six line inputs for synthesizers, grooveboxes, keyboards or other external sound sources. Four line outputs integrate outboard equipment or additional monitor paths cleanly. Via MIDI, you control external hardware directly from your setup. If your studio gets bigger later on, you don’t have to replace the entire system right away. With ADAT and S/PDIF, the number of channels can be expanded in a sensible way. That way, the desktop interface stays interesting even when a compact workstation gradually turns into a more extensive production system. Air modes with character The two revised Air modes give you more sound shaping right at the source. The Presence mode adds more openness and presence in the upper frequencies. Presence plus Harmonic Drive also focuses on harmonious compression in the midrange and gives signals more contour and drive. This works particularly well for vocals, guitars and acoustic instruments, but it can also add more character to electronic sounds. Instead of shaping the sound heavily only later, you dial in the character more deliberately already during recording. A strong monitoring routine In everyday use, the interface impresses not only when recording, but also when listening back. Two specially developed headphone amplifiers deliver a clear, powerful sound and reliably power even high-impedance headphones. For producers with multiple monitoring paths, the Alt-Monitor switching is also interesting, because you can quickly compare your mix between two pairs of speakers. With Focusrite Control 2 you control separate mixes for headphones, monitors and line outputs. This makes the device particularly useful when you’re recording in the same room, want to provide artists with individual cue mixes, or want to integrate external equipment cleanly into your routing structure. Does the Scarlett 16i16 Gen4 fit you? This model is right for you if you’re looking for a compact but versatile audio interface that goes beyond a typical beginner setup. It’s suitable for singer-songwriters, producers, beatmakers and small project studios that want to integrate multiple external sound sources and place value on good preamps, flexible input and output options, as well as modern workflow helpers. Ideal for recording, production and a hybrid hardware setup Well suited for ambitious beginners and more advanced users Useful if you work with microphones, synths, MIDI and outboard at the same time Practical if you want to combine mobile size with an expandable studio setup Even if you already work with a DAW and want to expand your setup with better converters, more flexible routing and a wider range of connections, this Focusrite interface is a coherent solution. Features Focusrite Scarlett 16i16 Gen4 Compact USB-C audio interface and studio hub for recording, production and hybrid setups Two extremely low-noise mic/line/instrument preamps with up to 69 dB of gain Six analogue line inputs for synthesizers, keyboards, grooveboxes and other external sound sources Four line outputs and two independent headphone outputs for flexible monitoring and routing Two revised Air modes with Presence plus Presence + Harmonic Drive for more sound character Auto Gain and Clip Safe for quick level setting and more security for dynamic recordings ADAT, S/PDIF and MIDI connectivity for integrating and expanding external devices Alt-Monitor switching for direct comparison between two speaker pairs Loopback function for streaming, content creation or internal audio routing Focusrite Control 2 for desktop as well as mobile remote control in the recording room Technical specifications Microphone preamps 2 Phantom power yes | independently switchable Instrument inputs 2 Line inputs 6 Air Mode yes Auto Gain yes Clip Safe yes Line outputs 4 Headphone outputs 2 ADAT 1 input | 1 output S/PDIF 1 input | 1 output MIDI 1 input | 1 output Loopback yes Connectivity USB Type-C Protocol USB 2.0 Form factor Desktop Simultaneous I/O 18 x 18 including loopback A/D resolution 24 Bit / 192 kHz Bus Powered yes | 3A Supported sample rates 44.1 kHz | 48 kHz | 88.2 kHz | 96 kHz | 176.4 kHz | 192 kHz Microphone inputs frequency response 20 Hz - 20 kHz ± 0.06 dB Microphone inputs dynamic range 116 dB A-weighted Microphone inputs THD+N -100 dB at 8 dB gain Microphone inputs noise ON -127 dBu A-weighted Microphone inputs maximum input level 16 dBu Microphone inputs gain range 69 dB Microphone inputs impedance 3 kΩ Variable line inputs frequency response 20 Hz - 20 kHz ± 0.05 dB Variable line inputs dynamic range 115.5 dB A-weighted Variable line inputs THD+N -100 dB at 8 dB gain Variable line inputs maximum input level 22 dBu Variable line inputs gain range 69 dB Variable line inputs impedance 24 kΩ Fixed line inputs frequency response 20 Hz - 20 kHz ± 0.02 dB Fixed line inputs dynamic range 115.5 dB A-weighted Fixed line inputs THD+N -106 dB Fixed line inputs maximum input level 22 dBu Fixed line inputs impedance 48 kΩ Instrument inputs frequency response 20 Hz - 20 kHz ± 0.05 dB Instrument inputs dynamic range 113 dB A-weighted Instrument inputs THD+N -80 dB at 8 dB gain Instrument inputs maximum input level 12 dBu Instrument inputs gain range 62 dB Instrument inputs impedance 1 MΩ Line outputs balanced frequency response 20 Hz - 20 kHz ± 0.02 dB Line outputs balanced dynamic range 122 dB A-weighted Line outputs balanced THD+N -112 dB Line outputs balanced maximum output level 16 dBu Line outputs balanced impedance 200 Ω Headphone outputs frequency response 20 Hz - 20 kHz ± 0.1 dB at 33 Ω | 300 Ω Headphone outputs dynamic range 112 dB at 33 Ω | 116 dB at 300 Ω Headphone outputs THD+N -100 dB at 33 Ω minimum | -110 dB at 300 Ω minimum Headphone outputs maximum output level 5 dBu into 33 Ω | 11 dBu into 300 Ω Headphone outputs maximum output power 57 mW at 33 Ω | 27 mW at 300 Ω Headphone outputs impedance 11 Ω Analogue-to-digital converter THD+N -110 dB Analogue-to-digital converter dynamic range 120 dB Digital-to-analogue converter THD+N -115 dB Digital-to-analogue converter dynamic range 130 dB A-weighted Power supply USB 3A | external optional 15 W Compatibility Windows with Intel | AMD | Arm64 | macOS with Apple Silicon | Intel Weight 1.25 kg Dimensions (W x D x H) 220 x 155.2 x 60.5 mm What’s in the box Focusrite Scarlett 16i16 Gen4 audio interface 1.5 m USB-C to USB-C cable USB-C to USB-A adapter External power supply

Focusrite Scarlett Solo Gen4

Compact USB-C audio interface for songwriting, recording and straightforward productions, with clear operation and a convincing sonic foundation. This model combines a microphone preamp designed with detailed work in mind with a dedicated Hi-Z instrument input, strong outputs and a modern converter section with up to 24 Bit / 192 kHz. Air Presence and Harmonic Drive are also included for more character in the signal, along with Loopback for internal stereo recordings and a software package that lets you get started right away. Clear recording path The single microphone preamp is designed to capture voices and acoustic sources cleanly, directly and with great detail. With up to 57 dB gain, you have enough headroom for many typical studio and home-recording applications. The switchable phantom power also makes the interface suitable for condenser microphones. In everyday use, the dynamic gain halos are practical. They help you set levels quickly without having to puzzle over it for long or constantly look at the DAW. This saves time and ensures a smoother recording process. Guitar signal with feel The dedicated instrument input is not just there—it’s clearly tailored to guitars and similar sources. Especially when you play directly into amp simulations, the signal feels open, controlled and natural, with a Hi-Z input that feels more organic than many basic interface inputs.Electro-acoustic instruments also benefit from this. The sound stays full, tangible and finely resolved enough to ensure that dynamics and picking attack aren’t lost. More character at the touch of a button With the two Air modes, you can shape recordings with intent without immediately having to dive deep into plugins. The presence mode opens up the upper range and pushes vocals or acoustic guitars further forward. Harmonic Drive places more emphasis on harmonics in the midrange and gives the signal more presence. Presence for more openness and air Harmonic Drive for more density and character Useful for vocals, guitar and many direct signals Strong sound when monitoring In addition to recording, playback also convinces. The headphone output is designed to be powerful and delivers a loud, clear sound even with high-impedance models. For day-to-day work, the separate controls for headphones and monitors are particularly helpful, because you can better adapt recording, playback and mixing to your situation. The converters are conceptually drawn from the manufacturer’s RedNet world and deliver a wide dynamic range. This shows up especially in clean reproduction, improved depth staging and overall confident signal processing. Software, Loopback and quick start The interface includes Ableton Live Lite, Pro Tools Intro+, Cubase LE and the Hitmaker Expansion Bundle. This gives you an immediately practical foundation for recording, editing and your first productions. Loopback is especially useful when you want to capture stereo audio internally in your DAW from music apps, streams or software signals.Via Focusrite Control 2, you manage the device conveniently on Windows and macOS. In addition, Easy Start provides a guided setup that makes the first use significantly easier. Does the Focusrite Scarlett Solo Gen4 fit you? This interface is just right for you if you want to record vocals and guitar without complicated routing, while also valuing good conversion quality, easy operation and sensible sound options. It fits particularly well for singer-songwriters, people getting started with home recording, content creators and mobile setups looking for a compact device with focused equipment. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Gen4

Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen is a compact USB-A audio interface for recording with two inputs and two outputs, giving you a very direct path to clean, detailed sound. Two microphone preamps, separate line and instrument inputs on the front, 24 Bit / 192 kHz and a dynamic range of up to 120 dB make this model a strong hub for vocals, speech, guitar, synthesizers and much more. In addition, Auto Gain, Clip Safe, Air modes and an extensive software package are included, so you can start recording without getting sidetracked. Clear sound, clean level At the centre are two extremely low-noise microphone preamps, which, according to the manufacturer, are among the most detailed in the Scarlett range. With up to 69 dB of gain, you can bring out a clean, present signal even from more demanding microphones. This is particularly beneficial for vocals, speech recordings or acoustic instruments, as it results in more fine detail and a calmer overall image.Practical in everyday life: Auto Gain takes over level setting for you, while Clip Safe monitors the signal and automatically adjusts the gain as soon as clipping threatens. This saves time, reduces failed attempts and is especially helpful when you’re recording on your own or capturing spontaneous takes. Direct access for instruments The two front-facing inputs are designed for flexible working. You can connect microphones, but you can also work directly with guitar, bass or synthesizers. The Hi-Z instrument inputs respond like a classic amplifier input and are very well suited for DI recordings or for working alongside amp simulations.Keyboards, drum machines and other line sources can also be connected without hassle. This keeps your setup tidy, and you don’t need to start swapping extra adapters or preamps when you switch between speech, vocals and instruments. More character on demand With the revised Air modes, you can shape your signal purposefully without spending ages searching through plug-ins. The Presence mode boosts the upper frequencies and pushes vocals or acoustic instruments further forward. The Harmonic-Drive mode adds harmonic content in the midrange and delivers more density and contour. This is particularly useful if you want to bring more development to your recordings right from the playing stage. The sound remains controllable, but gains more presence and expression before you even start mixing. A solid foundation for your setup Besides its audio quality, the interface also impresses with a well thought-out working environment. The specially developed headphone amplifier delivers a clear and loud playback even with high-impedance headphones. With Focusrite Control 2, you can manage the device conveniently on Windows and macOS, and if you want, you can even control it remotely from the recording room via a mobile device. On the software side, the package includes, among others, Ableton Live Lite, Pro Tools Intro+, Cubase LE and the Hitmaker Expansion Bundle.
