Dynacord D 12A

For portable sound reinforcement, a speaker must work both as a standalone loudspeaker and as part of a satellite system. The Dynacord D 12A is an active 2-way full-range loudspeaker with integrated digital power amplifiers and an electronic crossover matched to its components.

A 12-inch Electro-Voice DL12BFH driver handles low and mid frequencies, while a 1.4-inch ND2 neodymium driver on a Constant-Directivity horn handles the high frequencies. Its 80° horizontal and 40° vertical dispersion angles are designed to provide even sound distribution. The frequency range extends from 45 Hz to 20 kHz, and the maximum sound pressure level is 129 dB under the stated measurement conditions.

The input signal can be connected via XLR or jack; the input level can be switched between microphone and line signals and adjusted as required. An XLR output passes the signal through to another D 12A. A locking PowerCon connector provides the power supply. The listed Speakon inputs and outputs complete the connection options.

The polypropylene cabinet is angled and features a carry handle and a pole-mount socket. This allows the speaker to be mounted on a stand or used as a monitor with separately available angle adapters. The powder-coated steel front grille is backed with acoustic foam; the black finish also suits discreet permanent installations. Mounting accessories are available separately.

With 500 watts RMS total power – split into 350 watts for the low-frequency range and 150 watts for the mid-high range – the model is suitable for mobile full-range applications and as a mid-high section in satellite systems. The D 12A is suited to setups that require an active 12-inch speaker with a switchable mic/line input, signal output for daisy-chaining, and stand or monitor placement.
