Dynacord D 12-3A

For small live sound setups and fixed installations, a speaker that can be operated without an external power amplifier and positioned to suit the room is essential. The Dynacord D 12-3A is an active 3-way full-range system with built-in power amplifiers for portable and permanently installed sound reinforcement applications.

The bi-amplified electronics supply 350 W RMS to the low-frequency range and 150 W RMS to the mid- and high-frequency ranges. An electronic crossover matches the crossover points at 700 Hz and 4 kHz to the speakers. The model can be used independently as a full-range speaker; in a satellite system, it can also serve as a mid/high-frequency unit.

For connection, an XLR input and a 6.3 mm jack input are available for line signals. You can route the signal to a second D 12-3A via the parallel XLR output using a microphone cable. A level control adjusts the speaker volume; the locking PowerCon connector provides the mains supply.

The enclosure houses an Electro-Voice 12-inch woofer, a Dynacord DND-6120 neodymium midrange driver and an Electro-Voice DH-3 high-frequency driver. The midrange radiates conically at 120°; the high-frequency horn has nominal coverage of 90° horizontal and 50° vertical. The frequency response ranges from 45 Hz to 20 kHz at −10 dB, and the maximum sound pressure level is 131 dB at 1 m and 10% THD.

The polypropylene enclosure is trapezoidal and features an integrated carrying handle for transport. A stand mount makes positioning easier; the angled shape also allows it to be used as a floor monitor. Mounting and monitor accessories, available separately, extend the options for fixed installations and stage setups. A powder-coated steel grille with acoustic foam protects the speaker components.

With its connections, integrated level control and signal routing capability, the speaker is suitable for mobile DJs, entertainers and smaller live bands, as well as sound reinforcement in schools, pubs and restaurants. It is also designed for larger multimedia applications and fixed installations where an active 12-inch system with mounting options is required.
