Product description Dynacord CL 800

Two speaker channels can also be used as a mono bridge circuit when required. The Dynacord CL 800 is a power amplifier for mobile PA systems that supports these operating modes with stereo, mono and bridged modes. Its Class H technology and signal-dependent switching of the operating voltage help provide power reserves.

The inputs are electronically balanced and use XLR sockets. Separate XLR direct outs allow you to daisy-chain the input signal to connect additional power amplifiers. The input routing can be set to mono or stereo; separate bridged out connections and a bridged mode switch are provided for bridged operation. The speaker outputs are Speakon connectors.

On switch-on, the soft start limits the inrush current. Relays connect the speaker outputs with a delay to reduce switch-on noise; the current limiter also helps prevent the mains fuse from blowing. During operation, an audio processor monitors the input and output signals. The dynamic limiters intervene in the event of non-linear behaviour without fundamentally limiting the dynamic range.

Protection features include back-EMF protection against returned energy, as well as protection against overheating, overload, short circuit, high-frequency signals and DC voltage at the output. A three-stage fan dissipates heat from front to rear. The torsion-resistant steel chassis for touring use complements the protection and cooling functions for use in mobile racks.

At 1 kHz in two-channel mode, the CL 800 delivers a maximum of 240 watts per channel into 8 ohms, 400 watts into 4 ohms and 600 watts into 2 ohms. Continuous operation at 2 ohms in dual mode and 4 ohms in bridged mode may not be guaranteed depending on the ambient temperature. For PA setups, the connection type, operating mode and speaker impedance should therefore all be taken into account.
