If you want to record your mix directly at the DJ booth without setting up a computer, the DJ-Tech DJ Rec records to USB. The compact recorder saves the input signal as an MP3 and can also use the same USB stick to play MP3 files.
You can connect a DJ mixer or CD player, for example, via the RCA input; the RCA output sends the signal to active speakers, for instance. The input and output levels can be adjusted separately. LED indicators provide feedback on the respective levels, while the display shows the operating status.
For playback, the device automatically starts playing MP3 files on the inserted USB stick. You can use the buttons to pause tracks, skip forwards or backwards, and search within a track. You start and stop recording using the REC button; new files are saved in the “record” folder. Recording is in MP3 format at 44.1 kHz and 256 kbps.
The metal housing and compact dimensions make the recorder suitable for transport between DJ setups. The included 9 V power supply powers the device at the venue. The DJ Rec is suited to setups where you want to record an RCA signal without a computer or play MP3 files via the existing USB connection.
