DJ-CD-Player
DJ CD players are not standard commercial CD players: they start without delay and provide information about times such as the remaining time. The players for DJs connect to the mixer via a fader start connector.
The difference makes the difference
Other differences to conventional players: the larger control buttons and the vibration-resistant drive. To compensate for the different tempos of songs, DJ CD players also have a pitch in the sense of a speed control.
There is hardly anything more embarrassing than looking for certain song passages when you hang up. Modern DJ players with a precise search function in the form of a jog wheel prevent this scenario.
Types of DJ CD players
Basically we distinguish between 3 types of players:
- Tabletop players carry a single drive, wander next to the mixer and are accessible for operation from above.
- 19 "single drives are single drives for installation in 19" racks.
- 19 "dual drives in- or exclusive remote drives carry two drives with single outputs. The actual drive in 19 "rack format carries audio and mains voltage connections and is networked to the remote unit via special cables.
Thanks to the jog-wheel, the playback speeds for beat matching can be fine-tuned. Jog wheels are the ultimate replacement for DJ CD players for turntables and make the DJ's performance appear just as virtuosic as with vinyl. Even scratching is now possible with DJ CD players.
Quality devices also have master tempo functions for maintaining consistent pitch at variable pitches. An integrated speed analysis (BPM) for individual songs can also be helpful.
