Rode NTG4

A distinctly modern shotgun condenser microphone with supercardioid pickup pattern, practical switching options and rugged metal housing. Shotgun microphones are needed when positioning close to the sound source is impossible or undesirable - such as in broadcast, stage, film sound and video applications. The NTG4 features a wide frequency response (20 Hz - 20 kHz), low self-noise (16 dBA) and high sensitivity (25 mV).

With its light weight, the NTG4 is an ideal microphone, but can also be elegantly attached to video cameras with the optional SM3-R swing mount. For manual operation, the optional pistol grip "PG2-R" is recommended. The NTG4 requires 12 V, 24 V or 48 V phantom power.

On the body of the NTG4 are three electronic switch buttons that can be used to activate pre-attenuation, high-pass filter and - a first for shotgun systems - a presence boost (5 kHz/+6 dB). The latter is ideal for compensating for the unavoidable drop in treble already in the microphone when a head windscreen is used. But even without a headwind protection, the presence boost can be worthwhile: an even higher speech and detail intelligibility is achieved.

The three switch buttons each have their own status LED, so you can see at a glance which of the functions is activated. In addition, the NTG4 "remembers" the last used settings after work is done. These are immediately available again the next time the unit is used.

The NTG4 is manufactured by RØDE in Australia. Registered users receive a 10-year warranty from Rode.
