Product description Yamaha MODX7+

When switching between complex sounds, the next entry should not be interrupted. The Yamaha MODX7+ combines Seamless Sound Switching with a 76-key keyboard and two sound engines: AWM2 for sample-based sounds and FM-X for FM synthesis. With up to 256 notes of polyphony in total, the synthesiser is suitable for multi-part performances in live and studio settings.

Motion Control Synthesis combines both engines and lets you control sound parameters while playing. You can use the Super Knob to change several assigned parameters at the same time; the Motion Sequencer and arpeggiators add rhythmic and evolving patterns. Smart Morph lets you morph between FM-X sounds. Seamless Sound Switching is available for switching between Performances without interrupting the sound, for Performances with up to four Parts.

A Performance can combine up to 16 Parts, for example for splits, layers or MIDI multimode. The 2,227 preset Performances and Live Sets help you organise sounds for performances; Live Sets include 256 or more preset entries and 2,048 user entries. The effects section includes VCM effects, a vocoder and a sidechain function. According to the product specifications, up to 27 effects can be used simultaneously.

You can store your own samples and libraries in the 1.75 GB flash memory; the Waveform ROM has a capacity of 5.67 GB. The stereo A/D input lets you connect external audio sources and process them using the internal DSP. USB transmits audio and MIDI to Mac, PC or iOS devices. For USB audio operation at 44.1 kHz, four input channels and ten output channels are available.

The semi-weighted, velocity-sensitive keyboard has 76 keys; aftertouch is not available. A 7-inch touchscreen is used for operation. MIDI input and output, two outputs, a headphone connection, two A/D inputs, and connections for two Foot Controllers and two Foot Switches cover the main connections in your setup. At 7.4 kg, the instrument is also comparatively easy to transport.

The MODX7+ is suited to keyboard setups that require 76 keys, multiple Parts and USB audio/MIDI. You can use it as a standalone instrument for live performances or connect it via USB to a computer- or iOS-based studio. The package includes a power supply, owner's manual and a licence and download code for Steinberg Cubase AI.

Yamaha YC61

For organ playing, a stage keyboard needs to keep drawbars and important sound parameters within reach while you play. The Yamaha YC61 combines a 61-key waterfall keyboard with VCM organ sound generation and additional piano, synthesizer and ensemble sounds. This compact instrument is designed for the stage and studio and can be played without a computer. The organ sounds are based on Yamaha’s Virtual Circuit Modeling (VCM). You can adjust the sound directly using the physical drawbars; rotary speaker speed and other organ parameters are also accessible on the instrument. Two rotary speaker models complement the organ voices. For sounds beyond the organ, options include acoustic and electric pianos, strings, brass and FM synthesizers. The Organ and Key sections can be combined or assigned to different keyboard ranges. For example, you can layer an organ sound with a piano sound or split the two sound sections. The semi-weighted waterfall keyboard is designed for organ playing techniques and has 61 keys. Nine effect processors with a total of 32 effect types are available for sound processing, including reverb, delay and overdrive. These are complemented by two rotary speaker models and amplifier models. A 128 × 64-dot LCD displays settings and parameters. For integration into a computer setup, the keyboard has USB audio and USB MIDI. A stereo audio channel at 44.1 kHz and 24-bit is transmitted via USB; MIDI can also be exchanged via USB or the MIDI sockets. The audio signal from the analogue line inputs is not sent to the computer via USB. There are also two line outputs, two line inputs and a stereo headphone output for external audio devices. Four connections for foot control—two for footswitches and two for foot controllers—complement the control surface. The outputs and inputs, as well as MIDI In/Out, make the YC61 suitable for live and studio connections. At 7.1 kg and with its compact dimensions, it suits setups that bring together organ controls, additional stage sounds and a manageable transport weight. Yamaha CK61

If you want to combine piano, organ and synthesizer sounds directly on stage, the Yamaha CK61 keeps the most important controls within easy reach. This stage keyboard combines three freely combinable Parts with a 61-key FSB keyboard and is suitable for live performances, rehearsals and mobile setups. The sound engine includes piano and electric piano sounds, strings, brass, organs and synthesizers. You can split, layer and mix the volume of up to three Parts, for example for bass and piano or organ and strings. A total of 363 Voices and 160 Live Set Sounds are available; Live Sets store settings such as splits, layers and effects for instant recall. The organ sounds have their own section with five organ types and nine drawbars. Rotary speaker, percussion and vibrato/chorus can also be controlled. You can shape synth sounds using dedicated filter and envelope controls; mono and unison modes can be selected directly on the control panel. Control-panel operation keeps key sound parameters accessible without having to navigate menus. The effects section includes Drive and two effect processors with modulation, time-based and other effects. The keyboard has an A/D input with two dedicated effects for external sound sources. This lets you play back a microphone or instrument through the speakers or outputs; the input signal can also be transmitted to a computer via the integrated USB audio interface. The A/D input with dedicated effects processing lets you integrate external sources into your setup. The CK61 receives audio signals from compatible devices via Bluetooth, so you can play along with music, for example; Bluetooth is used here as an audio input, not as a MIDI connection. The USB audio interface transmits audio in both directions and also supports USB-MIDI. There are also MIDI inputs and outputs for external MIDI devices; in four-zone mode, you can use them to control external sound generators. Four MIDI zones turn the keyboard into a control centre for hardware and software synthesizers. The unweighted FSB keyboard has 61 keys, noticeable initial resistance and longer key travel. Integrated stereo speakers rated at 6 watts each let you play without external amplification. For mobile use, you can power the instrument with eight AA batteries; the power adapter is also included. Speakers and battery operation let you use the CK61 without a mains socket or external sound system. At 5.6 kg and with its compact dimensions, the CK61 fits into a mobile stage, rehearsal or studio setup. It is aimed at keyboard players looking for directly accessible piano, organ and synth sounds, combinable Parts and connections for external devices in a portable instrument. The combination of three Parts and four-zone MIDI is particularly useful when you want to use internal sounds and external sound generators together. Roland Fantom-06

An idea often begins with a sound, but then requires an instrument that does not pull arrangement, performance, and recording apart. The Roland FANTOM-06 bundles these workflow steps into a 61-key workstation with direct operation, an integrated sequencer, and extensive sound generation. Sound generation with 16 zones ZEN-Core forms the foundation for electronic sounds, complemented by SuperNATURAL Acoustic, SuperNATURAL Piano and Electric Piano, as well as a Virtual ToneWheel Organ. At least 3,500 tones and 90 drum kits provide material for productions, band sets, and your own performances. A scene saves the settings of all 16 internal and external zones, including effects and patterns. This allows you to manage various layers, splits, and external sound generators in a tidy setup and recall them without having to rebuild them. Sequencer, sampling, and performance pads The pattern sequencer works with 16 MIDI tracks and supports real-time recording, step recording, and TR-REC mode. Patterns can be recorded and triggered directly, while the SMF player plays back MIDI files in format 0 and 1. Keyboard multisampling and pad sampling are available for your own audio material. WAV and AIFF files with 16 or 24 bit at 44.1 or 48 kHz can be imported; the 16 RGB pads distribute pad samples across four banks and also handle DAW or zone control if required. User interface for quick adjustments The 5.5-inch colour touchscreen with 1,280 x 720 pixels complements the physical controls instead of replacing them. Eight knobs, eight faders, function buttons, sound modify knobs, as well as a pitch/mod lever and illuminated wheels give you direct access to sound and performance parameters. This is particularly practical when sounds need to be changed during a song or a layer needs to be adjusted spontaneously. Patterns, zones, and effects remain accessible via scenes and the control panel without having to switch between different working modes. Audio, MIDI, and computer integration Via USB, the workstation acts as an audio and MIDI interface and integrates natively with Logic Pro, MainStage, and Ableton Live. The interface processes up to 24 bit and 96 kHz, records 16 stereo channels, and plays back two stereo channels. For a standalone live or studio set, main out, sub out, headphone jacks, MIDI in/out, pedal inputs, and USB memory are available. Two microphone inputs, a stereo line input, and the integrated vocoder expand the scope for voice and additional audio sources. Which setups is the Roland FANTOM-06 suitable for? The Roland FANTOM-06 is suitable for keyboardists, producers, and live acts who want to combine many sounds, samples, and external devices on a central keyboard. The 61 synth-action keys keep the instrument highly portable at 6.0 kg in weight, while scenes, zones, and the sequencer clearly organise even complex setups. In the studio, it connects sound design, pattern recording, and computer integration. On stage, prepared layers, splits, and accompaniments can be called up directly from the instrument, allowing you to focus on your playing and arrangement. Roland Fantom-07

A song rarely grows in a straight line. First, there is a piano chord, then a synth bass is added, later the stage needs different layers and an external device is meant to run along too. The Roland FANTOM-07 combines these workflows into a 76-key workstation that integrates sounds, sequencing, sampling and control directly on the instrument. 76 keys for flexibility and transport The velocity-sensitive keyboard with 76 synth-action keys offers significantly more space than a 61-key keyboard, while remaining easy to integrate into a mobile setup at 7.0 kg. The format is suitable for two-handed playing with piano, pad and split sounds without taking on the dimensions of a weighted stage piano. Sound architecture with piano, synth and organ ZEN-Core forms the basis for electronic sounds and is complemented by SuperNATURAL Acoustic, SuperNATURAL Acoustic Piano and SuperNATURAL Electric Piano. The Virtual ToneWheel Organ adds an independent organ engine to the instrument. More than 3,500 tones and over 90 drum kits provide a broad starting point for productions, rehearsals and live sets. Scenes and zones for prepared setups A Scene saves the settings of a complete setup. The Roland FANTOM-07 manages 16 internal and external zones, allowing layers, splits, effects and MIDI devices to be organised together. 128 Scenes in four banks help you call up songs or production projects in just a few steps. For cohesive performances, the Scene Chain arranges up to 16 Scenes on 32 pages. This allows you to prepare fixed sequences and keep sound changes in your set trackable. The zones control both internal sound sources and external MIDI hardware. Patterns, pads and direct sound design The clip-based pattern sequencer captures ideas directly and retrieves them again. The TR-REC sequencer is based on the working principle of classic Roland drum machines. The 4x4 pad matrix can be used to trigger samples, notes, zones and rhythm patterns, among other things. Your own audio files are also part of the workflow: the keyboard imports WAV and AIFF samples for multisampling. This allows prepared sound components, your own recordings or signature one-shots to become part of a Scene without having to plan for a separate computer as a central sound source. Operation and interfaces in the studio A 5.5-inch colour touch display, eight knobs, eight faders and dedicated sound controls bring important parameters to the surface. Pitch/mod levers, wheels and performance pads complement the operation. This allows sounds to be shaped while playing without having to work through multiple menu pages for every change. Via USB, the workstation works as an audio and MIDI interface with up to 24-bit and 96 kHz. Main and sub outputs, microphone and stereo line input, MIDI In/Out as well as three pedal connections create connection points for a studio or stage setup. Who is the Roland FANTOM-07 suitable for? The Roland FANTOM-07 is aimed at keyboardists, producers and live musicians who want to prepare various sound tasks on a central keyboard. The 76 keys provide space for piano parts, splits and two-handed playing, while Scenes and zones clearly store recurring song setups. If you work with your own samples, integrate hardware via MIDI or want to supplement a DAW via USB audio and MIDI, the workstation combines these paths in one user interface. Direct controllers and the pre-configurable Scene structure support you in capturing ideas and calling up sounds precisely during a performance. Roland Fantom-08

A musical idea can quickly become confusing when piano, synth pads, samples, and external sound generators are spread across separate devices. The Roland Fantom-08 consolidates these tasks into an 88-key workstation with a weighted keyboard, extensive sound generation, a sequencer, and connectivity for a growing studio or live setup. PHA-4 keyboard for piano and performance The 88 keys of the PHA-4 Standard keyboard feature a weighted action, escapement, and an Ivory Feel surface. This allows the instrument to be played as directly for piano and electric piano parts as it is for layered sounds where the keyboard controls multiple zones simultaneously. The workstation manages 16 internal and external zones. This means your own sounds, a connected hardware synthesizer, and software instruments can be combined within a single scene. Scenes store layers, effects, and patterns, providing complete setups for songs, rehearsals, or stage sets. ZEN-Core, SuperNATURAL and expandable sound engine The sound engine combines ZEN-Core with SuperNATURAL Acoustic, SuperNATURAL Acoustic Piano, SuperNATURAL Electric Piano, and the Virtual ToneWheel Organ. Out of the box, there are at least 3,500 tones and 90 drum kits available, allowing you to arrange acoustic instruments, electronic sounds, and drum parts without needing additional sound modules. The sound library can be expanded via installable Model Expansions, Wave Expansions, and Sound Packs. Your own 16 or 24-bit WAV or AIFF files at 44.1 or 48 kHz can be used as keyboard multisamples. Up to 2,048 samples and 128 multisamples provide space for your own instruments and custom timbres. Sequencer, pads and effects directly in the instrument The integrated pattern sequencer features 16 MIDI tracks and supports real-time recording, step recording, and TR-REC. Patterns can be organised into scenes, while SMF files can be imported and exported. This is ideal for drafting, arrangement work, and prepared sequences for live performance. The 4x4 performance pads control the pad sampler, among other functions. This provides 16 pads across four banks and can process up to approximately 60 minutes of audio material. Additionally, there is an extensive effects section with multi-effects, part EQs, TFX, chorus, reverb, compressor, input effects, and a vocoder. Touchscreen and connections for a connected setup The 5.5-inch colour touchscreen with 1,280 x 720 pixels complements eight knobs, eight faders, and other direct control elements. This keeps sounds, zones, sequences, and effects accessible on the instrument without needing to navigate through menus for every adjustment. For external devices, main and sub outputs, a stereo line input, a microphone input, MIDI In/Out, USB Memory, USB Computer, and three pedal jacks are provided. Via USB, the keyboard functions as a 24-bit/96-kHz audio interface with 16 stereo recording channels and two stereo playback channels. When does the Roland Fantom-08 fit into your setup? The Roland Fantom-08 is suitable for keyboardists, producers, and live musicians who want to combine a weighted 88-key keyboard with a versatile sound base and central control. Its zones, MIDI, and USB connectivity make it a sensible hub when using hardware, computers, and your own samples together. The combination of scenes, pattern sequencer, pads, and effects is also practical for songwriting and arrangement directly on the keyboard. If you play piano parts, craft electronic sounds, and want to prepare complete setups for different pieces, this workstation provides a clearly structured workspace. Features Roland Fantom-08 88-key workstation with PHA-4 Standard keyboard, escapement, and Ivory Feel ZEN-Core, SuperNATURAL Acoustic, SuperNATURAL Piano, and Virtual ToneWheel Organ At least 3,500 tones and at least 90 drum kits 16 zones for internal and external sound generators 128 scenes in four banks with layer, effect, and pattern settings 16-track pattern sequencer with real-time, step, and TR-REC recording Keyboard multisampling with WAV and AIFF import Pad sampler with 16 pads in four banks 5.5-inch colour touchscreen with 1,280 x 720 pixels Extensive effects section including multi-effects, TFX, and vocoder USB audio/MIDI integration with up to 24-bit and 96 kHz MIDI, audio, pedal, and USB connections for studio and stage Technical specifications Keyboard88 keys | PHA-4 Standard keyboard | Escapement | Ivory Feel Sound engineZEN-Core | SuperNATURAL Acoustic | SuperNATURAL Acoustic Piano | SuperNATURAL Electric Piano | Virtual ToneWheel Organ Zones16 | internal and external Scenes128 x 4 banks Preset soundsmore than 3,500 instruments | more than 90 drum kits Pattern sequencer16 MIDI tracks | real-time recording | step recording | TR-REC Keyboard samplerWAV/AIFF import | 16/24 bit | 44.1/48 kHz | 2,048 samples | 128 multisamples Pad sampler16 pads x 4 banks | maximum polyphony 8 | maximum approximately 60 minutes | approximately 660 MB Display5.5 inch | 1,280 x 720 pixels | colour LCD | touchscreen Audio interfaceUSB | up to 24-bit/96 kHz | recording 16 stereo channels | playback 2 stereo channels ConnectionsMain Out | Sub Out | Headphones | Microphone input | Stereo line input | MIDI In/Out | USB Memory | USB Computer | 3 pedal inputs Power supplyAC adaptor Weight14.8 kg Dimensions (W x D x H)1393 x 354 x 138 mm Included in the box Roland Fantom-08 workstation keyboard AC adaptor Owner's manual

Roland Fantom 6

When a keyboard needs to capture ideas, consolidate sound sources, and allow for quick switching on stage, accessibility determines the musical flow. The Roland Fantom 6 brings together a 61-key synth-action keyboard, multiple sound engines, and a sequencer-based workflow in one workstation. Sound generation for acoustic and electronic parts The workstation combines ZEN-Core with SuperNATURAL and V-Piano sounds. Over 3,500 sounds and 90 drum kits are available out of the box. This allows piano, organ, and string parts to be placed directly into an arrangement, as well as pads, leads, basses, and electronic drums. For a piece, a set, or a section of a song, you create a Scene. It bundles sounds, patterns, and the control layout into one working environment. Scenes can be chained and switched without an audible break, which is practical for changing timbres in a live set. 61 keys with channel aftertouch The 61 keys feature synth-action and channel aftertouch. This plays quickly for synthesizer lines, organ parts, and rhythmic keyboard pads. Depending on the sound, you can use aftertouch to control filters, vibrato, or other assigned parameters while playing. The more compact keyboard compared to the larger FANTOM models saves width in the studio and during transport. At the same time, there is enough room for two-handed parts and splits if you want to distribute bass, chords, and melody across one keyboard. Sequencer, pads and sampling in the same project The integrated 16-track sequencer records in real-time, via step recording, or in TR-REC mode. Patterns and arrangements are thus created directly on the instrument. Piano roll editing on the touchscreen makes it easier to refine individual notes without necessarily having to run a computer. You can record or import your own samples. They can be triggered via the pads, played tonally on the keyboard, or set up as multisamples. This is useful for prepared backing tracks, custom-made instruments, and recurring sound elements in a live or production project. Touchscreen and direct control of external systems The 7-inch touchscreen with 800 x 480 pixels brings central functions to the same level as the knobs and faders. This makes sounds, Scenes, sequencer tracks, and parameters more quickly accessible than via nested menus. The user interface is designed for working with multiple parts and performance setups. Via USB, the Fantom 6 works as a 16 x 3 audio/MIDI interface and integrates into a DAW. Control modes for Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and MainStage support access to software on the computer. MIDI ports as well as two CV/Gate outputs also connect the workstation to external synthesizers and modular systems. Which setups is the Roland Fantom 6 suitable for? The Roland Fantom 6 is suitable for keyboardists, producers, and live musicians who are looking for a central instrument for sound selection, sequencing, and the control of further hardware or software. Its 61 keys and compact format are particularly suitable for bands, project studios, and mobile rigs where multiple sound tasks converge on one keyboard. Those who want to combine their own samples, external sound generators, and DAW tracks in a fixed workflow receive a comprehensive control hub with direct playability. Scene management helps you recall songs and song sections prepared, while the sequencer leaves room for spontaneous ideas and elaborated arrangements. Features Roland Fantom 6 Keyboard workstation with 61 keys, synth-action and channel aftertouch ZEN-Core, SuperNATURAL and V-Piano sound generation Over 3,500 sounds and 90 drum kits Scene memory for sounds, patterns and performance layouts 16-track sequencer with real-time recording, step recording and TR-REC Sampling via internal or external sources with pad and multisample functions 7-inch VGA touchscreen with 800 x 480 pixels USB audio/MIDI interface with 16 inputs and 3 outputs MIDI-In, MIDI-Out and MIDI-Thru for external devices Two CV/Gate outputs for controlling analogue and modular synthesizers Technical data Keyboard61 keys | Synth-action | Channel aftertouch Sound generationZEN-Core | SuperNATURAL | V-Piano Preset soundsOver 3,500 sounds | 90 drum kits Scenes4 x 128 Sequencer16 tracks | Real-time recording | Step recording | TR-REC SamplingWAV | AIFF | 44.1 kHz | 48 kHz Display7-inch VGA touchscreen | 800 x 480 pixels USB audio/MIDI16 inputs | 3 outputs MIDIMIDI-In | MIDI-Out | MIDI-Thru CV/Gate2 outputs Weight15.3 kg Dimensions (W x D x H)1084 x 403 x 106 mm Included items Roland Fantom 6 keyboard workstation Manual Power plug

Yamaha YC73 6
Yamaha YC73

Physical drawbars and a dedicated organ section define the Yamaha YC73, a 73-key stage keyboard for stage and studio use. Its sound engine combines VCM organ modelling with AWM2 samples and FM synthesis. As well as organs, you have acoustic and electric pianos, strings, basses, brass and synthesisers at your disposal. VCM technology models the sound character of tonewheel organs and rotary speakers. In the Dual Keys section, you can combine and layer sounds or assign them to different keyboard ranges. For example, you can play piano and organ sounds together or set up different timbres for your left and right hands. The organ and keys sections each have their own sound and effect areas. Key controls for shaping the sound while playing are positioned directly on the control panel. The drawbars in the organ section can be adjusted directly, while other parameters are also accessible via physical knobs and switches. The 73 keys feature BHS hammer action, with adjustable touch sensitivity. Direct access to sound parameters keeps adjustments within reach during live use, without having to navigate deep into menus. Nine onboard effects are available for the sounds, including vibrato/chorus, reverb, delay and drive. Rotary speaker effects and a 3-band EQ are also included. When switching between sounds, you can let held notes continue to ring out; seamless sound switching is particularly useful when changing sets or switching between sound combinations. You can connect the keyboard to a computer via USB and use it as an audio/MIDI interface for recording, playback and control. You can also connect MIDI devices via the MIDI inputs and outputs. For sound reinforcement, there are balanced XLR main outputs and unbalanced jack outputs; two jack inputs accept external audio signals. USB audio and MIDI connect the instrument to computer and hardware setups. The YC-OS software can be updated and expanded with additional functions and sounds. With its organ controls, weighted keyboard, separate sound sections and connectivity options, the YC73 is suitable for keyboardists who want to use piano, organ and synthesiser sounds in a single stage or studio instrument. Roland RD 88 EX Top View
Roland RD-88 EX

A good stage piano needs to be well-organised on stage: piano to the fore, other sound colours ready to hand and the most important settings accessible without diving into menus. The Roland RD-88 EX combines this direct approach with a weighted 88-key keyboard, versatile sound generation and an integrated speaker system. Piano sounds and ZEN-Core sounds For acoustic and electric pianos, the instrument uses SuperNATURAL Piano and SuperNATURAL E.Piano. The EX version also includes the SuperNATURAL Acoustic Piano 3 expansion. In addition, the ZEN-Core sound engine provides over 3,000 more sounds, including organs, strings, brass and synthesiser sounds. PHA-4 keyboard for piano playing and stage The 88 keys of the PHA-4 Standard keyboard feature hammer action, escapement and Ivory Feel. This makes the RD-88 EX suitable for piano parts where weighting and nuanced dynamics are important. At 13.5 kg excluding the power supply, the stage piano remains highly portable. Three zones and direct sound control Three parts form the basis for splits and layers with internal sounds, external sound generators or a combination of both. Sounds and setups can be saved as 400 Scenes. Two assignable wheels and eight assignable knobs give you direct access to volumes and other parameters. A favourites function provides quick access to the sound you need, while rhythm patterns and a song player assist with practice or performance preparation. The instrument can also be used as a MIDI master keyboard and for DAW control. The clear control panel makes it easy to switch between prepared scenes during a live set. USB audio/MIDI, microphone and speakers The RD-88 EX sends and receives audio and MIDI data via USB COMPUTER. The control profile for Apple MainStage facilitates the integration of virtual instruments into a stage setup. In addition to stereo outputs, there is a microphone input, a stereo line input, MIDI Out and a USB memory port. The integrated speakers consist of two 12 cm full-range drivers and two 2 cm tweeters with a power output of 2 x 6 W. This allows you to get started at home, during rehearsals or in small venues without having to connect external amplification for every application. There is a damper pedal connection and two assignable pedal connections. Is the Roland RD-88 EX the right choice for your setup? The Roland RD-88 EX is suitable for keyboardists and pianists who use a weighted keyboard with acoustic and electric piano sounds as their starting point and wish to play additional sound colours on the same keyboard when required. Its three zones, storable Scenes and control knobs make it particularly suitable for changing song setups during rehearsals and performances. The stage piano also offers a coherent foundation for a compact home or project studio: the speakers allow for spontaneous playing, while USB audio/MIDI and the MainStage control profile provide the connection to the computer. If you want to bundle piano parts, layers, split sounds and software instruments in a portable instrument, this is a versatile work base. korg kross 2 88 matte black top view
Korg KROSS 2 - 88 Matte Black

If you play piano parts with both hands, you do not want to operate a workstation that feels like a light synthesizer keyboard under your fingers. The Korg KROSS 2 - 88 Matte Black therefore combines a weighted 88-key mechanism with an extensive sound library, sampling, and sequencing in an instrument that can also work without a power outlet. Weighted keyboard for piano and more The 88 keys with Natural Weighted Hammer Action react with more resistance in the lower range than in the upper, thus mimicking the playing feel of an acoustic piano. This suits dynamic piano parts just as well as pads, organs, and synth sounds that can be distributed across the entire keyboard. Aftertouch is not available. For direct expression, there is a pitch bend wheel, a modulation wheel, and two switches. The non-slip, rubberised surface in matte black remains pleasantly subtle and fits perfectly on stage as well as in the home studio. Find and shape sounds quickly The EDS-i sound engine works with more than 1,000 pre-installed sounds. Additionally, there is memory available for optional PCM libraries. Using the category dial, favourites, and quick layer/split functions, you can call up suitable sounds without navigating long menus and combine them directly on the keyboard if needed. For editing, there are five insert effects and two master effects available, with a total of 134 types. Two real-time controllers allow for quick access to selected parameters. This allows for direct control of filter sweeps, effect levels, or other sound changes while playing. Sampler, sequencer, and audio directly in the instrument The 16 pads operate as a pad sampler with eight banks. You can import WAV files, record your own samples, and play up to four pads simultaneously. This allows you to integrate musical interjections, short sound fragments, or prepared audio elements into a set without needing an external sampler. The 16-track MIDI sequencer, step sequencer, drum track, and arpeggiator help with sketching and developing songs. An audio recorder saves WAV recordings to an SD card. For voice or instruments, there is a mic input and a stereo line input; the vocoder uses the microphone signal for speech-like synth sounds. Connections and mobile operation Via USB Type B, you can integrate the workstation as a USB audio and MIDI interface into your computer setup. MIDI In/Out, a stereo output, a headphone connection, and inputs for a damper pedal, foot switch, and expression pedal complete the equipment for stage and studio use. The instrument runs on the included power supply or with six AA batteries. Depending on the battery type and usage, the battery life is approximately six to seven hours. Weighing 12.3 kg, the 88-key version remains easy to handle for rehearsals, gigs, and changing locations despite the weighted mechanism. The Korg KROSS 2 - 88 Matte Black in your setup This workstation is suitable for keyboardists, songwriters, and pianists who want to use a weighted keyboard with production tools in one device. It combines piano playing, a wide sound selection, and your own audio ideas without needing a separate module for every step. On stage, you can quickly access favourite sounds, splits, layers, and pads. In the studio, the USB audio/MIDI, sequencer, and recorder connect the instrument with existing ideas or a computer. If you develop songs on a keyboard but still want to play a pianist-style keyboard, you get a versatile centrepiece for your setup here.
