Product description DBX 215
When it comes to sound reinforcement, graphic equalization helps to specifically boost or cut individual frequency ranges. The dbx 215 is a two-channel 15-band equaliser for live sound, fixed installations and studio setups. Its 2/3-octave constant-Q filters cover the ISO frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz per channel.
The 20 mm faders control the individual frequency bands. Using the range switch, you can select a control range of ±6 dB or ±12 dB; an additional input gain control also adjusts the input level by ±12 dB. For low-frequency interference, a 50 Hz low-cut filter with 12 dB per octave can be engaged.
A bypass switch removes the graphic EQ section from the signal path. Input gain and low-cut remain active. This allows you to compare the frequency correction without also switching off the level adjustment or the high-pass filter. Four LED segments display the output level; a separate clip LED indicates clipping.
Inputs and outputs are available as XLR and 6.3 mm jack for each channel. The HF-filtered connections are wired in parallel and support both balanced and unbalanced connections. A ground lift switch can disconnect the signal-to-chassis ground connection in case of hum problems.
With its 19-inch design and 1U height, the equaliser fits into any standard rack. The internal power supply and a dynamic range of more than 108 dB complement the features for use between a mixing console and power amplifier or in a studio signal chain. This makes the dbx 215 suitable if you want to process two signal channels with clear fader controls and XLR or jack cabling.
