Product description DAP-Audio Power Adapter Core Kontrol D2
If your computer's USB port does not provide enough power to the Kontrol D2, a separate power adapter supplies the power. The DAP-Audio Power Adapter Core Kontrol D2 provides 5 V DC at 1 A and is designed as a suitable power adapter for the DJ controller.
The Kontrol D2 can be powered via USB, but it requires an adequate power supply. The power adapter is an alternative if the USB port does not provide the required power. It may be needed more often with MacBooks; whether you need it depends on the available USB power supply.
When connecting it, pay attention to the voltage, current type and polarity: the power adapter provides 5 V DC with positive polarity. The wide-range input accepts 100 to 240 V AC at 50 or 60 Hz. This makes it suitable for powering the Kontrol D2 from compatible mains supplies.
